Anyone who plays a pitcher in RTTS will tell you that the game takes total contol of the situation ANYTIME it feels like it. I have maxed out control, maxed out speed, yet I get fastballs that are thrown exactly on the line of the pitch meter that go nowhere near where they were aimed..funny, this only happens when the CPU decides it's time for "the inning." I can go 7 even 8 innings with pinpoint control then suddenly my perfect control disappears, and even pitches that manage to catch the corner end up getting creamed. OR the inning will start with a bogus error, a routine ground ball that Jeter or Arod just happen to bobble.
It seems that this game looks at how well you're doing and decides you're doing too well, so it throw a wrench into the works, takes over, fubar's your control and suddenly your 9 inning, 2 out, 2 strike shutout is blown by an error, basehit and sac fly. All on pitches that were perfect, or should have been.
And we all know about the crazy superspeed so-called slide step pitch that happens with men on base. HOW ABOUT A WARNING WHEN THE CPU IS GOING TO DO THAT?????
Now that I've had my rant, it's time to retire this POS game and go back to MLB 09. And as a former programmer I can tell devs right now that if you don't knock off this unfair manipulation and allow the player to succeed once in a while, this franchise will go the way of Hardball...great once..now gone.
