What has made you jump up out of your seat?

Last night I was playing my RTTS career and I was one home run away form 40. I clobbered a hanging curveball that instantly cut to the home run cut-scene. I jumped up off my couch with my hands over my head. But then...

Wait. The umpires got together to take a look at the replay. I waited. The replay showed that the ball actually traveled over the foul pole entirely. It was ruled.... a foul ball.

I continued my at bat and fell behind in the count 1-2. And then it happened.

I blasted a 441 foot home run into the upper deck at Sun Life Stadium. A no-doubter. Awesome.

That's an awesome story there, I've never played RTTS but HR's must be more special with the player you are working on.

I remember one event that made jump off my seat was a comeback on my first year home opener (currently on my second season) against the marines, I was trailing 3-5 for the longest part of the game can't really remember, but in the ninth inning with 1 out I had two guys on base and hit the walk off 3 run homer (exactly what I needed to win) with Jack Cust and I was just filled with excitement.

Coming from behind when you least expect it and getting that huge hit

      OR...the bad version

Opponents coming from behind when you least expect it and getting that annoying huge hit

I do love hitting with my guy. He was 4 away with 3 series left and we were down by 6 games. I carried us against the Braves who were first by hitting 3 homers, but we lost in the final game even though we were up by 1 thanks to my 39th. We were out of it then so I was trying to hit everything out of the park. I ended up Hitting one in the first two games. Hopefully we can get into the playoffs this year.

Mine was similar in that it was an upper decker at Sun Life. My story, I was sitting on 59 hrs in the last game of the season and it was the top of the 9th and we were down by 2 with 2 outs. I come up with 2 guys on against Fernando Rodney (sp?), and on the 3rd pitch of the at bat he throws me a hanging change that my dude destroys, it doesn't go into the cut scene but I knew it was gone as the outfielder stop at the fence and looked up. So final at bat of the season I hit #60, hit a go ahead hr in the 9th and on the replay I see that the ball lands about ten rows back in the 3rd deck (450-460ft). I thought it was awesome (my wife didn't) it was my dudes biggest homerun so far in his three seasons in the bigs. But alas my closer sucks and he gives up 2 in the bottom half and we lose 5-4 and we miss the wildcard by a game. Stupid game

Ryan Howard. 448 ft 3 run blast in the fifth inning at PNC park after a 9 pitch AB. He even steps back after he hammers a souvenir for the fish in the Allegheny. My jaw dropped... I've never hammered a pitch in this game so hard.

Re: What has made you jump up out of your seat?

It was the Orioles vs Giants (me) at AT&T Park. I almost recreated the play a couple of years ago where Manny made that catch, jumped to the wall to high five a fan, and tagged up the runner.

I was pitching with Cain and they had a man on first with 1 out. Throw a slider that hangs just high enough for Markakis to launch a shot deep towards left field. Torres runs back to the warning track and jumps just in time to rob the HR. I was so excited, I barely saw that the runner was rounding third trying to run back to tag up. Quickly threw to the cut off man and he threw it to first to double him up. Had to pause the game when the inning was over cause I couldnt believe what I just saw.

Re: What has made you jump up out of your seat?

I was down online 7-0 against the Yankess in the 8th using the Mariners, online. After I took Felix out in the 6th, he scored 5 on me that inning, I have really missed having Mark Lowe as a late inning go to guy. Then in the 8th I scored 4 runs to make the score 7-4. Then in the bottom of the 9th, Jack Wilson walked, Ichiro hit a liner off the pitcher for an infield single, Figgins layed down what was supose to be a sac bunt, but turned into a bunt hit. Then Gutierrez came up with the sacks juiced with no one out, got a 1st pitch cutter from Mo Rivera that I was sitting on, power swung, and I think it ended up hitting off from the International Space Station for a walk-off grand salamie. One of the few moments I have ever jumped out of my seat while playing.

Winning the game in the bottom of the 9th hitting a game winning HR with 2 outs 2 strikes after a game where I got my *** handed to me like a little boy.

Well for me it is usually BAD things that get me out of my seat.
Like the other day I was losing to the Mariners and Ichiro robbed me of a home run two innings in a row. Luckily I did end up winning the game anyway, so my controller is still in one piece (for now).

Getting Pujols' 2,000th career hit with a walk off 3 run homer to beat the Cubs 5-3 a few weeks ago.

Most recently...striking out the side with runners on 2nd and 3rd and no outs with Motte this morning to preserve a save/win against the Nationals. We have now climbed into the lead in the Central after being down by 10 games in the middle of August.

Last night I was playing my 4 game series against Cardinals in my franchise. Anyway I am down 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs when I get a base hit with Utley. Ryan Howard comes up and is absolutely on fire the last couple games. 2-0 count I am just waiting for the fastball and when I get it...

10th Inning- I have two guys on for Polanco with 2 outs and this happens... ( I had gotten out of bases loaded jam in the top of the inning leading up to that)

11th Inning- Colby Rasmus hits a 3 run shot off of Durbin and in the bottom of the inning, Utley makes the 1st out then Howard and Werth reach on singles, Victorino walks and Elijah Dukes comes to the plate ( I signed him to be a backup because Francisco was playing horrible and Dukes was brought in earlier in the game because of matchups for Gload)...

                          <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mqaJImX2BW0&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mqaJImX2BW0&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

                          Here are the game highlights:

2nd career walkoff home run and 2nd grand slam walkoff home run, I was so happy lol.

Everything mentioned in this thread so far is offense (which is cool), but I love making big plays in D.

Especially love making a gutsy pitch call on a full count with men on base to strike out a batter.

I actually had a moment like that last night!...

Im the Rockies in my 3rd season, and the Yankees came to town for a 3 game interleague set, i won the first game 4-2, but was getting dominated in game 2, and was down 5-2 going into the bottom of the 9th,

Hawpe and Ianetta both got sent down so with 2 away,I brought in Ian Stewart to pinch hit for the pitcher, and he got a single, then the Fowler walked, followed by Seth Smith getting plunked to load the bases for Tulo.

Tulo worked the count full before blasting one to left center for a game winning walkoff grand slam!

I have Chelsea Dagger as my homerun song, for those that dont know, thats the Chicago Blackhawks goal song, and i was dancing around like a little kid, by far the best comeback ive ever had in MLB 10!
