    All Star Game

Does whichever league wins the game get home field in the WS just like in real life? I am at the All Star Game now and am wondering. I will sim it if it doesn't matter.

Yes, matter of fact after whoever wins, a little pop-up shows up on your screen saying that "soandso League has won the All-Star game and has home field advantage in the World Series" or something like that.

      Re: All Star Game

If you think the all star game is boring, you can do what I do, which is only play your players and switch the control to CPU vs. CPU when your players are not playing. I like doing this, as it really adds incentive to not just get to the all star game, but to play well when given the chance. I also like that I can help contribute to the home field advantage, but I can't influence the outcome all by myself. I need the rest of the league's studs to perform as well. I also don't have the ability to determine who will play and who won't. Unless of course I finally win the world series. Then I might just do the manager mode

I like that idea, I'll have to do that with my franchise, almost to the ASG now

No, they wear the all star uniforms. There is also a bug in the all star game after 2010. In 2011, where the all star logo is supposed to be is a giant blue "L" or "7". It is like the developers planned for it to change from year to year, but forgot to add what it will change to.

              Re: All Star Game

I love this game and had been looking forward to the AS game for a while but when I got to the game I found it extremely boring and I even had 2 starters from my team make it.

Scea needs to add some flavor to the AS game. Make it seem a little more special.

While on this topic because I was gonna ask in the next day or two...

Is it like the real all-star game where pitchers and players are switched in and out frequently or does it play like a usual game? Just wondering how to go about it

Not true. The starting pitcher will go 2 innings, then they switch pitchers every inning. Every player plays.

I hope they get the real jerseys in the game next year.

Not true?? Maybe for you it's not true but for me no changes were made. How can you say it's not true when I played the game. Plus, I didn't say unequivically they don't make changes, I said when I played.

                        Re: All Star Game

That is odd. I have never seen a pitcher go more than two innings in any of the all star games I have played (I play all the all star games at all levels). Usually, the CPU will switch out players around the 6th inning or after 3 AB's, whichever comes last. Some players will play the whole game, depending mostly on whether the pitcher was pinch hit for (which doesn't happen enough in my opinion). Even still, not all of the pitchers will get to play and some of the bench players will not play either. The first season, I had 4 pitchers go to the all star game. Only two played. This season, I had 2 pitchers go and only one played.

Mine didn't do that and I simmed SEVERAL YEARS. You probably need to re-install the game.

the only reason I can think it didn't happen for me is the fact that I start all my games using 2 controllers, number 1 for me and number two for the CPU and then once the game starts I move the CPU controller back over to the middle. Maybe that messes with the CPU sub patterns.

YES! Just another neat feature in this game. I have noticed in my 3 sims, that not every player plays, unless the game goes into extras but I haven't had the chance for that yet.

Clarification: There are only 1 or 2 position players left on the bench by game's end. Most relievers aren't used. At least in my sims, most of the time, starters are brought in the game first until about the 7th inning.
