    Player stamina

I am playing a franchise with the cardinals and i was wondering if I take a player out in the 8th inning to let him rest the 9th does that save his stamina?

For example I was beating the Mets 9-0 in the 7th so I took Pujols and Holiday out like in real life to give them some rest but I did not know if in the game they still lost the same amount of energy or not.

Yes it does save stamina. Not as much as if you rested them the whole game, but it does save some. At a minimum, I believe their stamina will stay the same as before playing the game.

It might have some effect but I would just go ahead and play them for the stats. Your plan is a bit smarter though because it takes the risk of an injury away and you can give some prospect a shot or 2 at success.
