As for me, I'll use the Mariners. They are my favorite team, and they are in disarray right now. Our current roster is beyond weak, but we have some good pieces to build around.
Here's the lineup and rotation that I will most likely start with...
Ichiro, RF
Chone Figgins, 3B
Franklin Gutierrez, CF
Milton Bradley, DH/LF
Justin Smoak, 1B
Jack Cust/Michael Saunders, LF
Miguel Olivo/Adam Moore, C
Dustin Ackley, 2B (Rookie, top prospect)
Brendan Ryan, SS
Felix Hernandez, RHP
Erik Bedard, LHP
Jason Vargas, LHP
Doug Fister, RHP
Michael Pineda, RHP (Rookie, top prospect)
The bullpen is pretty underwhelming.
Obviously, I'll have A LOT of work to do. This team, on paper, is still a 90-100 loss team.
I love Felix, Ichiro, Figgins (hope he rebounds), Gutierrez, Smoak and Ackley, as well as Michael Pineda, who should be a very legit #2 starter in this league.
As far as prospects, it would appear that the Mariners have a middle of the pack farm system, headlined by Smoak, Ackley and Pineda and Nick Franklin. I think Smoak and Ackley can eventually be all-stars, and Pineda has filthy stuff. There are some other nice pieces there as well, but building them up to respectability will be a chore.
That lineup is bad and the rotation is potentially worse, with the exception of King Felix.
