Triples?

Are you guys hitting any?

I've been enjoying the game on default All-Star, and don't really want to mess with sliders, so I was wondering if you guys were hitting any on default settings.

Last year, you kind of had to mess with fielder speed sliders to hit triples, and was wondering with all of the changes to defense this year, they were happening more frequently for anyone.

I hit a triple in my very first game with Denard Span. It was pretty cool. Line drive to center that Sizemore misplayed. I barely got in there, but it was pretty cool. It would be awfully hard to get a triple on any ball that doesn't make it over a fielder's head, or takes a weird bounce off the wall. Doubles are just as easy as ever to get this year, too.

My test-case RTTS player has hit 2 triples in 35 AB on default All-Star settings. He has average speed (perhaps above average for AA), but this was about the hit placement - both of them plugged the right center field gap and the AA outfielders were slow to get there.Well, the second one was also about a play being made at the plate - basically gave me a free base when I'd have probably not made it to 3rd otherwise.

I think I hit one in a regular game too - can't remember with whom.

I hit one with Kinsler last night against the Twins. No misplay, either, hit it to RC and it hung in the air for a bit before bouncing off the wall. I took a chance going to third and was safe on a close play.

Not a triple but I hit a line drive misplayed by Cameron Maybin with Andrew McCutchen, ended up being an ITPHR.

I have 3 triples 8 doubles and 3 HR in about 8 or so games.

I have 8 triples with my RttS player and my speed is a little over 60. The outfielders play so shallow that if you hit it in the gap, you've got a good shot at a triple.

Usually, if you get an extra base because of a play at another base, the game will only award you the double. It is usually very good for recognizing these situations, because that's how it would be scored in real baseball.

Other than that, 1 against me by the cpu.

Next to no-hitters and balks, triples are the scarcity of the game.

Hit 2 triples in a ST game with Corey Patterson. I find its easier to hit triples in the ST parks since some of them are just huge.

I've probably had just as many triples as doubles in the 5 or so games I've played. I've gotten at least 1 a game, sometimes 2. A few have been gap shots and a few have been off the wall.
