How to influence where the ball is hit

Am I doing it right? Before the pitcher starts his delivery I use the right joy stick. It's not working for me though.

If I have a runner on 2nd with 0 out and I want to hit a grounder to the right side, I pull the right joy stick down correct? Do I use the left joystick while swinging to influence it to the right??

I'm using timing hitting, pci off, and guess pitch at default if that matters

You just flick the right stick once before the ball is thrown, down for grounder, up for flyball, and apparently (I heard this last year) left or right only influences bunts.. But I'm almost positive it influences hits as well...

Also is influencing the hit in this year? It doesn't give the little rumble to let you know whether it worked or not..

I would like to know the answer to this one as well. Has the vibrate been removed when trying to influence a particular type of hit?

You have to hold R2 this year when moving the right stick to influence your at bat before the swing guys!

i preload with the left stick and it seesm to work for me. So for a RH batter, before the pitch it tossed, down on the right stick for grounder and left on the left stick to pull ball.

doesn't that bring up the guess pitch icon though?

For "Timing" hitting, I believe you influence Up/Down with Right Stick before pitch is thrown and for Pulling/Opposite field, I also think you can use the left stick as the ball is traveling to the plate to influence pull or push.

Is this for analong hitting or do zone hitters (like me) now have to hold R2 as well to influence the hit?

It is kind of confusing....but what i believe you do is you hold R2 which does activate Guess pitch but instead of choosing a pitch you use the Right stick up to initiate a fly ball, down for a grounder, to the left for a bunt towards 3rd, and to the right for a bunt towards 1st. The controller should vibrate to let you know that it recognises your instruction
I don't believe the left stick does anything to influence a pull or oppo field shot....but i could be wrong on that one.

what if u pull down but towards the right corner? would the be a grounder to the right side?

I can confirm it is R2 plus RS up/down to influence. For bunts if you are using pure analog you simple hold the RS up/left to influence 3rd base or up/right to influence 1st base. If using classic bunting, its R2 + left/right to influence.

Nope, you can only influence fly or ground ball, what side of the field the ball goes to depends strictly on your timing, just how it should be.
