How to pinch hit pitcher?

Okay so I am kinda new to this game so don't laugh. But, how come when I got "Offensive Substitution" and I select my current pitcher and replace him with a pinch hitter how come, my pitcher will be out for the rest of the game?

Basically, how do I pinch hit my current pitcher w/o having him leave the game forever?

That's a rule of baseball. When you sub in any player, they are out for the game. That's why you don't PH till later in the game. And there's all types of strategy. Might not want to pull him even in the 8th/9th if he has only given up one run for example. Especially if your bullpen sucks (cough PHILLIES cough). But if you're down by one it might be worth it to PH for the pitcher.

If you don't want your pitcher to bat, play at an AL stadium. They have a DH instead of having the pitcher bat. This person only bats, doesn't do any defense.
