Manage only mode question

Trying to setup a gm mode game...if i keep cycling through each pitch, will the manager of my team call for steals/bunts etc.?
I'm trying to find a way to just watch the games...

No ...not really.
There are some things that will SOMETIMES get called for(mostly hit and run...and some intentional walks)....but if you just hit the PLAY BALL(circle) button.....it won't make moves.

Best way to do what you are looking for is to start a game with the PLAY GAME(not MANAGE GAME)...and then simply don't choose a side(or choose your lineup and then put it back to the middle once the game starts) at the team select screen.
It will then be a CPU vs. CPU game you can watch.

So in franchise mode, who are we exactly? The managers are MLB guys who can't be edited, but can/do you get fired or anything like that?

I'm trying to decide between setting up a manager mode, where all I do is set lineups/staff, or a gm mode where I only handle transactions but not training/bank/etc.

I'd like to have the ability to be fired...just trying to figure out "who I am."

Unfortunately.....getting fired from a team...and/or getting offers from other teams was removed this year.
I'm BEGGING that it be reinstated...and more manager/GM aspects be included in future iterations of the game.

I manage the games....but would do a GM only franchise if the managers/coaches/scouts were more fleshed out.(and added to each level).
I want a real reason to fire/hire someone from my organization.
