Hitting Help: PCI (?)

Hey fellow gamers. I'm playing a Phillies Franchise, and am currently 2-3 which is not unrealistic by any means. I'm having a blast, and feel that I really have the hang of Pitching and Fielding. I am however, struggling with the bat, and this is where I could use some advice. I am currently playing using Psycho Bulk's sliders, and with that All-Star hitting.

I have no problem timing the pitch correctly, and I don't swing at a whole lot of balls. The biggest issue I have is the Zone Hitting or whatever it is. It has something to do with moving the left stick if I'm not mistaken. Evidently, I am supposed to move the Left Stick to the location of the pitch after the pitcher has already thrown the ball? If this is the case I'm not sure I have much hope of ever being good with it. Anybody have any tips, or are others have the same problems? I realize people have probably asked this before, so if I am repeating the question I apologize. Thanks for the help!
