Scouting after the draft
How do you guys manage your scouting? How do you know which players available were drafted? Do you just scout 16 year olds? Thanks.Tags: None -
Re: Scouting after the draft
Not 16 year olds, 17 year olds.16 year olds wont be in the next draft but the 17 year olds might. Players that were in the scouting list that are in the draft will have a circle next to the name. The drafted players won't be removed from the scouting list till the next year so be careful not to scout your drafted players after the draft. -

Re: Scouting after the draft
I don't see a circle next to the name of the players I drafted or any other players. Im just two days after my draft now, will it show, or am I missing it?Not 16 year olds, 17 year olds.16 year olds wont be in the next draft but the 17 year olds might. Re: Scouting after the draft
The circle is only there next to the player's name while the Amateur Draft is going on. It'll disappear after the Draft. After the Draft, look at Sign Draft Picks. It'll list the players you drafted and the other 29 teams draft picks if you're in 30 person control. I always mean to write down the names of all 150 draft picks so i don't scout them again, but I never have the patience. I just make sure not to scout my draftees twice.Last edited by Mike3207; 06-11-2011, 12:38 AM.Comment

Re: Scouting after the draft
Unfortunately, I don't use 30 team control so idk who the other teams pick nor do I write down the draft picks which were selected..really wish the scouting aspect will be changed for next yearThe circle is only there next to the player's name while the Amateur Draft is going on. Re: Scouting after the draft
So let me get this straight...After I do my draft in year 1, i should stick to JUST scouting 17-year olds for next year? And also, since i'm not using 30-team control, is there any feasible way i can weed out this year's draftees so i don't scout them again for next year? Not 16 year olds, 17 year olds.16 year olds wont be in the next draft but the 17 year olds might. Re: Scouting after the draft
17 year olds won't take the rest of the year.I usually try and scout the remainder of the players with the bar half full after that. All draftees are removed from the scouting list after the year they are drafted, so they won't be on the scouting list next year. It's only a issue the year they are drafted.Only thing you can do in 1 persion is to write down the name of your draft picks so you don't scout them again, unless you want to write down all draft picks during the draft. A certain percentage of players in the draft won't be in the scout list(20%?); they're the ones without a circle next to the name.So let me get this straight...After I do my draft in year 1, i should stick to JUST scouting 17-year olds for next year? Re: Scouting after the draft
After searching, I found this thread... scouting after the draft. Saved me from making a new post.
Being new to the game, this year, I'm surprised that they don't remove the players from the scouting pool that were just drafted.
It's also a little surprising how many things I have to write on paper while playing this game for my players and contracts for when the end of the year comes up, etc...
Yeah, the game is clearly fun and all, but writing info on 150ish names of draftees and then checking them everytime I have to scout a new player after his potential is discovered
when obviously, only about 1/30th of them will be on my team (if I decide to sign all of them) is a bit much.

. I'm sure it will help him too.
