Off season resign players

I'm sure this has already been talked about but I tried searching the forum and couldn't find anything. I just finished a franchise season with the Twins and have moved on to the 5 day resigning period. Whenever I try to resign someone it says "The Twins have reached their maximum roster size and cannot sign any more free agents". I'm not really sure why its saying this because its not like i've signed any new players already from last season?

It's odd that you might have as many draft picks(from the year you've just completed) as opposed to the amount of FA's you'd be losing(unless you've got a ton of arbitration guys).....that could be it.

Hit square on the roster screen and it will give you the breakdown.

Thanks, I think thats it, Most of my players contracts are available for arbitration. I understand the arbitration concept but not so familiar with how it effects roster size, I'll have to read up a little bit more on it. So after the 5 day period they are free to sign with another team if i havent offered arbitration yet correct?

No...
That's just guys who were in their last year of a contract AND you no longer have control over(that would be the arbitration eligible players).....which is 5 and 6 years of service(depending on the age you signed them).....
If you offer arbitration to those guys that are eligible.....they will either accept your initial offer or get a hearing later in the off season. Either way, you will still control them so if you no longer want them...NO offer to them.
That 5 day period pertains only to players who if they don't sign with you in that 5 days...will get to test the FA waters.(an Albert Pujols this year for instance)
