How great would it be if
The game gave you an option to take steroids. Let's say you're in your 4th season and you're a speedy CF. You take steroids and your power R/L grows throughout the season on its own (no training needed). You go from hitting 10 HR to hitting 45 HR in a season. There should be random drug testing done and you may or may not have to go through it. If caught you will be suspended and your HOF meter will go all the way down and any record you may achieve will be marked with an asterisk. If you're not caught you'll end up putting up big numbers for the particular season you were on steroids and then your power will slowly decline a small amount during the offseason (still higher than if you didn't take them).Tags: None -

I already think that whenever I buy those 1000 pack training points.. lol...
I see what you're saying though, making it a game implemented feature, without buying points, a risk/reward option on it...
I doubt sony would actually involve drug use in a video game though, but if they're going for true to life simulation, that is something involved in the real game, no matter how unfortunate it is...Comment

It would never be allowed but if you bring it up to the creators of NFL Blitz the League, they may create a baseball game with it. If I'm not mistaken part of their game was to juice up before games. I never played it but I've heard from a couple friends that it was in the game.NHL-Minnesota Wild
NHL-San Jose Sharks

Re: How great would it be if
As crazy as your idea is -- and it is nutty (and seriously tacky), let's face it -- you're touching on something devs might think about including in these games on some level. And that's sudden increases/declines in players' abilities. Every year it seems in every pro sport, we see a few veterans who come out of nowhere and turn from journeymen to stars overnight. It's like something finally clicks and falls into place for them after several years in the bigs. Likewise, there are always a handful of players who go from being big-name players one year, to complete failures the next. They just lose it from one year to the next and it's all gone, finito. Would be a great addition to career mode.Last edited by peigone; 01-25-2012, 06:59 PM.Comment

Still, it would no doubt appeal to the Grand Theft Auto crowd. The question is how to keep those particular gamers interested in baseball for more than five minutes... given the lack of guns and sex and so forth.Comment

Re: How great would it be if
No need for in-game PED option.... you can move the Power slider a few clicks to the right...
But I've actually never seen any convincing evidence that PED can turn 10 HR hitters into 40+ HR power threat... not that I looked hard into it... I think it's still debatable how much exactly PED enhanced the power numbers during the steroid era.Comment
