    Question about zone analog hitting...

Will the swing location actually reflect your directional input in this mode? For example I swing high and away but the pitch is low and inside, will I see the swing animated high and away or will it animate low and inside? The biggest problem I have had with this series in the past is feeling so disconnected at the plate. I never feel in control and I think some of that is due to the scenario described above happening too frequently.

It will animate on the low inside pitch but you will not make contact. If I recall correctly it was done this way for aesthetic purposes. The game would look really ugly if there was such a great disparity between the actual swing input and the true pitch location.

Your match or miss is being done behind the scenes so your input is controlling the outcome, the animation is just keeping the game clean.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess the majority would rather have it that way. I really liked that aspect of the high heat games but I can see why people would prefer the way the show handles it.

I for one would prefer it to animate where I swing. Hopefully one day it will be that way.
I understand the reasoning behind why SCEA does it this way but I still feel it should animate the true swing.
This and the fact sometimes (at least in games past) you do make contact when you really shouldn't , based on your swing.

If only because people are not going to understand why they swung high and away...but the ani shows them swinging low and inside.
I can see the YouTube videos now. ...and the screams of "scripted"!
