Yes they took them away because of users request.

And I for one am so glad they did.

If you watch baseball on tv they never have player photos on that stat overlay when coming to the plate.

I love it too... another chance to avoid seeing the wrong hats

Its good that they got rid of it(though for Jays, sorta sucks since their new hats look cool! So would have loved to see Jays pics during walkups, but once players start getting outdated, doesn't look good. Looks like a fantasy team eventually with 4-5 diff hats in your batting lineup)

Couldn't agree more. If you only knew how much I hate when my franchise is in it's 3rd year and I have a bunch of hats not of my own. Takes away from the authenticity of the game imo.

I wonder if they'll ever make it like NBA where you just get a player from the neck up, and you can't see a jersey(and if you can, it's just white,which every team has) and the logo is in the background.

Though at least MLB updates their player pics. NHL updates some peoples and not others(Kessels wasn't updated on the Leafs until this year,despite being traded to them a number of years ago)

I didn't even realize that it was missing from this year, nice touch! It is indeed a nice idea to remove it, this way player hats won't stand out like a sore thumb!
