Is this a pay to win game?

I am referring to the Diamond Dynasty game mode.

I don't like to immerse myself in games where the person with the bigger pocket book has an advantage. I don't mind people with money being able to pay for shortcuts and such, or aesthetic improvements (like unique cleats, uniforms, shinier helmets, etc.) but I can't stand these online MMOs where if you have money, you have access to gear, items, cards, that nobody else does (with special overpowered unique stats).

Is there any of this in Diamond Dynasty? Can somebody explain the advantages to ponying up cash in DD?

It's the truth, there is no advantage. The only thing you can buy with real money are the MLB players card packs, but they only get 10 game contracts and Diamond Dynasty players get 25-40 game contracts and are better than most mlb players once trained.

Actually, spending money to get only MLB players would probably hurt your team...

They can buy a ton of DD player packs, recycle them for great cards then sell them off for in game money and train the crap out of their players. There is an advantage, but really it's just a faster way to get where anyone else can get. There is nothing they can get that no one else can't.

No you can buy both. It's cheaper to buy DD card packs actually.
