    Outfielders still WAY too deep

Let me first say this years game is amazing. But I am a stickler for realism and it has been a problem since I can remember with this game. The outfielders play so deep it's ridiculous. A line drive shot to the wall is a can o' corn for the CPU with a good hitter up. This takes away so many good doubles/triples. I am not sure why this hasn't been addressed, seems like a very easy fix that would make the game even better. Kudos to the show team on an amazing game but this one small fix is necessary.

You can fix this quite easily by turning down the fielder speed.

Keep adjusting it down until you see results that mimic real baseball. I play a game, and for each play I say to myself, "Did that play out like it would have in an actual game". Adjust the sliders until you say yes more often than you see a guy make a play or a catch he never would have made.

This year, I believe the slider movement is less than it was last year, but I am two clicks down on Fielder Speed, and two clicks down on Fielder Arm Strength, and one click down on baserunner speed.

So far, the game plays perfectly, Ortiz actually hit one over the centerfielder's head in Miami, and it looked as authentic as it would have in real life.

Again, you are given the power to make the game as unrealistic or as realistic as YOU want it to be.

      Use the power. Wisely.

I haven't ran into this at all. I have seen PLENTY of balls get hit over outfielders heads.

I have seen balls go over their heads but I have seen way too many easily caught at the wall because the outfielder only has to move 10 ft to get to the wall. It's a minor flaw, but it has been so for at least 3 years. Just wish it would have been addressed

Yep happens all the time for me, what you are seeing are exaggerated threads because the game just launched ffrom new players.

ROFl yep, typical over exaggerated launch week threads from people making up crap or exaggerating an issue, never have any issues with either.

i think the other thread was about the user outfielders. My guys always line up shallow, but their guys are real deep and seem much faster than my guys.

In reality though how many balls do you actually see that are hit over an outfielders head, probably lucky if you see one a game.

Agreed, the only time you see balls getting hit over an outfielders head is if it is hit on a rope, the OF is lined up incorrectly, or the OF takes a bad first step. I get as frustrated as anyone when I make good contact on a ball but it hangs up long enough for an OF to get underneath it, but it just makes it that much sweeter when I hit a rope or hit the gap.

I agree that fielder reaction and speed is exaggerated in this game. I've turned both sliders almost all the way down for as long as I can remember. Even with such drastic changes to the sliders, it still isn't a huge difference in-game and actually allows for the occasional triple from speedy batters.

As for this "overreaction" or "new" problem, this has been an issue as I said for at least 3 years. I know someone last year on these forums took the time to breakdown average field position from the wall in real life and in this game and there was huge discrepancies. I doubt the link is still out there but it was very well done. And yes I am going to turn down fielder speed/reaction. My problem is with the CPU outfielders not user. Other than that the game is awesome. People who are seeing the same thing, what slider number are you using for fielder reaction and speed?
