    Thanks, SCEA

I want to thank everyone at SCEA for their dedication to improving the best MLB simulation every year. I made this thread because the developers deserve it and when they browse through this forum at this time of year, there's always -some- undue negativity.

Let's face it, people, they don't have to work as hard as they do on this game and if they didn't work so hard, we'd have MUCH BIGGER things to complain about, so try to get things in perspective before you low blow the developers for not catching every little problem before the game went gold.

SCEA's history with patches is good anyway.

If you think and feel similarly to what I think and feel, drop your thoughts in this thread.

Yea, I know. The concept may be too mature for some to grasp.

Good to see this and I agree 100%. This is the game I wish I had as a kid but it was worth the wait.

I agree with the OP. But this thread is sort of like those "LIKE THIS IS YOU DON'T WANT CHILDREN TO STARVE" status' on Facebook.

Great game. Scea. Definitely justifying my move from xbox to ps3 two years ago.

                  I hate those!!! lol

Nothing worse than guilt trip messages

Also they don't do this for free, they do get paid for their hard work I'm sure. That being said they are very good at what they do and because of that I buy the game every single year. I'm hooked and I'll continue to support them financially.

Quite honestly fellas I like the old bat sounds to last years game. You knew you crushed one just by the way it sounded off the bat. I know I'm nit picking but thats just me. I love everything else though.

fair enough.. basically, all I'm saying is they listen to and interact with the OS community more than any other company I've seen so far.

This is the fifth year in a row that I've purchased this game. I'm an extremely fanatical baseball fan and, alongside fantasy baseball, this gives me that year-long "fix" between baseball games. SCEA and San Diego have done amazing things for the sports game industry. As for Sony, I have a good seven or eight dozen PSN titles, a quality disc-based library and any essential components one could ask for. I have provided support and feedback for Sony through my purchases.

Having said that, as someone else said, give me a break man. Sure, the game looks great in screenshots and through eight of nine innings; but, for a game that touts itself as the closest thing to the real thing, they sure have a lot of work to do.

Two days into release and there are twelve pages of bugs, many of which are reproduced consistently. This isn't even including the glaring errors such as having the wrong playoff format, wrong 2013 division format, missing jerseys and managers, incorrect stats or basic player features.

I wouldn't be upset spending $60 a year on the new release if they got the basics right year after year. It's great that shadows creep across the field and I'm sure there are a few people out there that manage to enjoy the Move support; however, there are game-breaking and experience-breaking errors that leave this title sitting on shelves until late March or April, just waiting on proper bug fixes -- although some of these individuals don't mind as they are waiting on the extensive OSFM roster release.

This year was the first year I found it difficult to purchase the game. I actually cancelled my preorder shortly after placing it because I had told myself I would wait to read reviews and see how glitchy the release was. Depending on that research, I would either support the developers and purchase a new copy or simply pick it up second hand. The only reason I got it on Tuesday was because Target had it for $10 with an additional $10 gift card. I figured I wasn't going to find a used copy later for that price and I could at least get my in-game music cues and chants imported and set up.

We can all appreciate cross-platform and Move support as well as things like dynamic lighting and added sounds/commentary. However, all of that is for nothing if you can't complete a game without major issues -- some of which were found in previous iterations. This is essentially a Ferrari with a snapped timing belt. The seats feel great and the overall aesthetics are amazing. You could do wonderful things with the car if only you had a working, essential component.

Again, as someone pointed out, these individuals get paid for this. They do a great job on so many things, but there are foundational errors that can simply take away from the experience or break the game entirely. I'm thankful that many of the developers reach out to the community, stay involved and gather feedback. I don't think this should be anything but the norm however. If they want quality feedback and the ability to see larger sales and support, they should interact with their fans and customers.

tl;dr -- Quality game but misses the mark on the advertised level of authenticity. Developers should feel proud of their work but not to the extent they stop pursuing perfection; focus should be shifted on getting all of the "little things" right before further drastic additions and rewrites.

wow, you were just waiting for an opportunity to drop that bible and after reading it, I put you on ignore. you could have summed your pretentious post up in one paragraph.

you want me to give you a break ? I made a thread exclusively for people to thank SCEA, so give me and them a break.

You know, I really don't understand your issue -- beyond the fact that you had to read more than a dozen words -- but I guarantee you that I won't have any problem sleeping tonight knowing this.
