Computer generated players progress in franchise.

Has anyone gone 5-10+ years into a franchise and seen how the computer generated guys that you draft progress?

Do any of them turn into studs with high ratings like the stars in the game like Pujols, Fielder, Halladay, etc? or is it by the time that the influx of created guys come to the majors and progress after the real life guys are gone that everyone just levels out and there are no studs in the game anymore?

To be honest, in previous games, this aspect has been horrible. I play as the Blue Jays, and very rarely tank, but my players are usually AA worthy with D or so potential. This year, I've seen some good A potentials, but I've never seen any real superstars around the league.

I have plenty of A prospects because of good scouting, but I haven't played a baseball game until this one since MVP 05. In MVP 05, once you go 10 years into a franchise the curve drops off on what an elite player is because players don't progress well/quick enough. Nobody will have a full overall ratings bar like there is now with Albert, Prince, etc.

I was just curious to if anyone's seen prospects they draft, or that the computer drafts progress well enough to have Pujols, Tolo, Bautista type ratings, but it seems nobody has gone far enough into it or doesn't have an answer.

The Show has been generally pretty horrendous with this. This is a real shame because it cannot possibly take that much programming to come up with a solid progression model.

In fact you can look at boundary conditions, how many A-level talents in MLB are there right now, how many will there be if 50% regress to a B or lower within the next 5 years, how can we replenish this talent?

Between the lousy draft, no record books, dreadful progression, bizarre player contract situation, no top prospect lists, and wild nba-like trading franchise mode is among the worst I have seen on a video game.

They toss in things like arbitration, and restrictions for free agents, but at that point it's like putting lipstick on a pig.

Damn, really disappointing to hear. Kind of takes the fun out of watching players progress or even going deep into franchise if they overalls for players aren't going to be on par with how an A potential player should progress into an elite player, or have the chance to.

It may not be perfect but it's definitely a fun mode. I hope next year they focus on updating it though.

Based off of what people are saying, and how it was still around when I played my last baseball game in 05, I don't see them focusing on updating player progression if its still lackluster in progressing players into equivalents of players already in the game.

I have been 10 plus years in the future a few times and I have seen guys generated hit 50 plus homers and win 20 games. I think it looks good. If you want to see you should sim 10 years take a look. Takes about an hour or so, but worth it if you are really interested.

I'm not worried about production, I'm worried about overall ratings. It's been said that it tails off in the future because players don't advance quick enough. Would it be alright to ask if you saw any of the guys with full/almost full ratings bars like we have with the real guys. Or is what people are saying true that because of the slow advancement of players the best players aren't close to full overall's?

Here is a franchise save from 2022 if you want to look.

Edit: It may be the save where I made a bunch of A prospects as well all named the same and same position for testing purposes, so don't freak and think it's the AI.

Edit 2: Here is another franchise from 2022 using stock rosters http://www.mediafire.com/?93gyy0r3ubytjk6

This is why I hate number ratings and overall numbers in general.
People will totally dismiss what is important......the player stats and how they actually play in order to..
...see an unrealistic(yes....I said it....there is no such thing IRL except the scouting report #'s) representation of a players abilities.
If the new ceiling for a player is 85 ....and everyone is leveling at the same rate...and 85 is the "new" 99...
                            Who cares?

The fascination with numbered ratings at the expense of play/stats boggles my mind.
(yet...all we hear is crying on not seeing enough stats in overlays!)

AGREE!! I would love to see ratings completely gone and your scout grade the players and assign a scouting rating to each one. The better your scout the closer you get, with even the best scouts grading players wrong sometimes.
