The different icons in the lineups.

Can someone go over the different icons in the starting lineups. Ones I've noticed thus far(this is my first year with this amazing game).

    -flame icon(hot streak)
    -ice icon(cold streak)
    -green R(rookie)

    -crown(???)
-star with half blue and half red background(all star maybe?)

Add others if you wish. I'm interested to know what some of them mean and what all icons exist.

Pretty sure the crown is league leader in something.
The star has to do with all-star votes I think. Not 100% sure.

        When on that screen:

Hit the SELECT button and then QUESTION MARK(lower left of screen).... all will be revealed.

All the definitions for all the icons are available in-game. Go to any screen where these icons show up, press select, and press X.

The flame is the Hot Streak icon. I assume it looks at the last 10 days, because that other "Who's Hot" thing also looks at 10 days, and because you will notice in Franchise mode it is impossible to get any hot streak things until a few games into the season.

For hitters, it's based on averages and production (home runs/RBIs)
For pitchers, if it hasn't changed since last year, it's based on wins/losses. I don't think ERA has anything to do with it at all, although it's possible the calculation involves both.

Anyway, I know it's wins/losses because last year, I went through a big offensive slump. One of my pitchers was dominating, with like a 1.30 ERA, but with no run support, went on a stretch of like 3 or 4 straight losses. Sure enough, by the 4th or 5th start, a "cold streak" icon appeared next to the name.

The Cold Streak Icon is obviously just the opposite in terms of calculations and stuff, whatever that ends up being.

The crown icon means that the player is leading his league in any major statistical category. I don't think "leading" necessarily means #1. Ben Zobrist was #3 in the league in doubles, and had a crown icon next to his name, in my game. Although I suppose it is possible he was leading the league in some other random stat at the time, and I just never noticed (and the announcers never mentioned it).

I would assume that if you go to the "League Leaders" screen in Franchise mode, any stat that is listed here is eligible for the "crown icon," although I don't know for sure. The only ones I've seen are home runs, stolen bases, batting average, and saves. The background color of the icon only denotes the respective league.

The injured icon is the medical red cross thingy, of course.

The All-Star icons are white stars on colored background, the color again denoting only the league of the player.

Haha tell me about it! I literally have 3 shortstops/second basemen dudes on the disabled list, all with 8 week injuries. No other players are on the disabled list at all (excluding minor league players). I had to trade some random prospect for another shortstop.
