    New 10 Team Playoff format - Any updates??

    I want to start out by saying I apologize if there is another thread covering this. I would assume there is, but I only found one that had been closed by a moderator referring to make any further posts on the topic to "the other thread", which I couldnt find.

    With that said, anyone have any news on plans, updated patches, announces from EA, etc., in regards to whether they plan on having a patch at some point including the new playoff sysytem, and if so when?

    Again, my apologies if this is being discussed somewhere here, but I have looked extensively, even googling and only finding the most recent comment from Sony as of about 3 weeks ago stating "we're looking into it and dont have an answer yet". Any new news anyone?

      I read somewhere that it would not be put into this years game. That's something then can not be fixed with a patch.

              I don't mean to hijack the thread but when IS the patch coming out? It's coming on a month now since the game released. That's a month of me being super patient. All I really want is the schedule times to be fixed.

                  I have not seen them state that. The only info that they have stated was that they were looking into it. Doesn't mean they will add it...but also doesn't mean they won't.

                      I don't know why they couldn't patch it in. Heck they could patch in a new mode, that's a DLC is, well as long as their coding allows for that.

                          I read it somewhere before the game was released, and people were asking about the new playoff system. They said it was to late to be added to the game and that the would not be patching it either. Now I don't know if they couldn't patch it or they just wouldn't, but I thought it said they couldn't. I have not heard since then so who knows, but I wouldn't count on it. Then if it does happen it will be a nice surprise for us all.

                                  Kind of aggravating if they dont/wont/cant make or able to make a patch for the playoff blunder. It really is a big mistake. They should of been prepared for this, knowing it was going to happen, not sure when, but possibly this year. I Love The Show, no better game, but 2k12 released for xbox with it as an option to turn on or off when starting fantasy mode I read, still not knowing if it would happen by the begining of the season but again knowing it might.

                                  EA should of done the same thing. Definitely without a doubt, this years biggest misstep

                                              Maybe, but he's willing to gloss over those types of things, it shows the level of attention that the op is paying.

                                              Here's the deal, does anybody know what adding two teams to the playoffs would do to the franchise? What about franchises already in progress? How do we know that one line of code won't break the entire system. Is the comeback "well they should have had it in the game in the first place"? We didn't even know for sure that this would happen until about a week before Spring Training.

                                              If it was easy, it would be done. If it's not patched in or not already in the game, there is a reason why that is so.

                                                  Short answer, YES. It should of been in the game, as stated before, as 2k12 did presenting as an option to turn on or off, in franchise mode. One line of code breaking the entire sysytem? That doesnt even make sense..... to me at least. I'm not being argumentative, just a rebuttle.

                                                  Reason: It was at the time they were writing the code for the game a VERY realistic possibility for this season, and DEFINITE for next. They should have covered themselves. If it was a question as to whether it was EVER going to happen, then I'd say no. But that wasnt the case

                                                      Even if they were able, why would they patch it in when it's a built in selling point for '13?
