Cover Next Year

Just was thinking who will be on the cover next year, hopefully its a pitcher, because there hasnt been one in a while.

I think Matt Kemp would be first choice though.

It still baffles me that Verlander wasn't on the cover of 2012.... He threw a no hitter and won 24 games.... He won MVP... as a pitcher. He deserves to be on the cover more than anyone as he has consistently been one of the top 5 pitchers in the league.

It still baffles me that Verlander wasn't on the cover of 2012.... He threw a no hitter and won 24 games.... He won MVP... as a pitcher. He deserves to be on the cover more than anyone as he has consistently been one of the top 5 pitchers in the league.

No question he was deserving, but two competing games having the same cover athlete would be quite the conflict.

Unfortunately I don't think josh will be making a cover appearance with his off the field issues. I think it would be hard to put a guy who spent 4 yrs of his life doing hardcore drugs and two relapses since breaking into the league. And for the record, hambone is my favorite player so I would be all for a cover but just don't see it happening.

But he's sober now. Excepting the odd relapse, he keeps his name clean. Unless he has a) a massive bender and/or b) a positive PED test between now and October, and with the year he's putting up, I don't see how he's not the front runner.

he had a relapse like 4 months ago, and it was a big deal to him and the organization. i agree that because of the off the field stuff he won't get it.
