I just put up a four spot in the 7th inning against a completely full confidence bar from the A's Brett Anderson during a two hitter.

And this wasn't the first time. This was just the first time last night.

I was referring to switching teams mid-game to make sure the CPU uses its bullpen effectively. I'll switch to that team, make the desired changes, then switch back.

Maybe rarely was too strong a word, since I've done the same plenty of times over multiple years. I should say it's to easy for the AI to cruise with a gassed out pitcher with full confidence than it is for the user IMO. And not just cruise, but masterfully and consistently hit their spots.

Thanks for clarifying.

I saw something similar when the CPU pulled a pitcher pitching a shutout against me after I got 1 or 2 hits in the inning. The score was close, 3 to 0 if I recall correctly. I think it was the sixth inning and the pitcher threw less than 80 pitches, also with a good amount of energy left.

I didn't know you can switch teams during a game. How is that done?

Hit the start button and then go to team select and move the cursor to the opposing team. When you're all done just switch back to your team using the same steps.
