Has this happened to anyone else? It's as infuriating as the whole inevitable being traded, regardless, flaw of RTTS. Seriously, am I supposed to put on brakes halfway between 1st and 2nd after a swing and a miss, and get back to 1B without being thrown out in order to not be benched? Sorry for the rant, but I'm pretty ticked off right now.

RTTS: Benched Indefinitely
For stealing on a hit-and-run where the batter swung and missed. I'm in 2014 with my player and this is his second season in the majors. It happened to me once last year for the same thing and the benching lasted only two or three days. It happened to me again towards the April of the 2014 season. The 3B coach puts a hit-and-run on, the batter swing and misses, and I'm on my way to second. Unlike the first time, this time I actually beat the tag for the stolen base. Finish the game and get the "Benched Indefinitely" e-mail. I simmed ahead and this time it appears it's going to last for several weeks; I guess until the end of this current advancement period. Thing is, I'm coming off a Rookie of the Year season and I'm hitting .323 with 4 HR and 14 RBI in April so far. It's not like the manager benched a .250 hitter with a bunch of Ks, no homers, and 5 or fewer RBI. I'm producing.

Re: RTTS: Benched Indefinitely
RTTS should really confine its advancement goals to the minor leagues, and just change its handling of Major Leaguers differently than minor leaguers. As you said, it makes no sense to bench a producing player like that.Mariners - Cubs: 2012 World Series

Re: RTTS: Benched Indefinitely
Completely understand your frustration, same thing has happened to me. I also agree that once you make it to the majors you should be dealt with differently. The central issue to me, here, though, is that you are actually being ordered to run. If you get thrown out on a hit and run, it's not your fault, it's the batter's. You shouldn't be penalized in any way for it. Not to mention, why does the RTTS manager have such a problem with stolen bases? It's like, unless you're absolutely a speedster, the game doesn't think you should be stealing. That's preposterous. I've never tried it, but what happens if you ignore the hit and run sign, and don't run? Bet you get benched for that, too.Comment

I can't understand how SCEA can let such a big flaw make it into the game. I know it's a rare and few and far between moment, but still. There's two huge holes in RTTS: the trade logic and this.Completely understand your frustration, same thing has happened to me. Thanks for the kind words. It means a lot.
As for the thread, don't bump it unless you have something to add to the discussion. I think bumping in general is frowned upon on OS. But I do know for certain that bumping my own thread is a no no. LOL! Thanks to my one and only citation.

Is this really true and a possible TOS violation in this forum? If it were up to me, I'd rather see good old threads stay around alive than guys who don't use search keep making similar threads over and over.Comment

Re: RTTS: Benched Indefinitely
Yeah, that's why I need to read the whole thing, to see if I have anything to add. I've lost a few games, I figure I might have learned a thing or too.
As for our OP here, I have noticed that if you improve your speed and base running ability you'll eventually get an "I've noticed your improved speed and baserunning, you now have the green light again" email. Haven't played enough past that point to know if the problem totally goes away or not, but it seems the manager loosens up a bit once you really should be stealing bases.Comment

Re: RTTS: Benched Indefinitely
This is why I take auto-save off and manual save after every game, trades/stupid manager interactions/record. I do my own saves so I can hopefully have a work around bad AI logic, usually I have 3-4+ saves per player spaced out like this, two saves for day-to-day, then one for about a week at a time, then one at the month spot. I started doing this first week I got the game when playing my RTTS. My team, the Mariners just had to trade Ichiro for a random "A" guy that was a 20-30 ovr and was 25. Let me say, I reloaded and simmed back upto a month before I could make it so they didn't make that trade, but it taught me a lesson. Re: RTTS: Benched Indefinitely
Unless it's clearly to add to the discussion, and not just to make the thread reach the top of the list; than yes, it violates TOS.
This is designed to keep people from starting a thread, getting no responses, and continually posting things such as "bump" or "anyone?"
It's considered spam. Again, unless adding to the discussion, a thread starter cannot bump a thread they started. I think it's less of a violation, or not even one at all (I'd have to check) if someone other than me bumps it. But I think that's even considered spam.
So if one wants to post in a thread, make the post meaningful.Comment
