Create-a-stance
I think it would be a nice option for rtts or created players in general. Choose high/squatted, open/close, follow through, toe tap, hand movements. It would really allow you to customize your individual hitter.

Re: Create-a-stance
That would be pretty cool, but I think the number of options needed to make it very cool would be mind boggling. -
Yeah, I agree it would be a ton of stuff to add. And u would probably getting clipping issues. But I think it would be awesome for rtts. And maybe use achievements in game to unlock diff celebrations and options. Like 50hrs would unlock Sammy Sosa's homerun hop, etc.

Re: Create-a-stance
Theres a few ways this could work,
1) start with all the stances available for example say you bat similar to Adrian Gonzalez but your legs arent open in real life when you really bat.
Take Adrian gonzalez siwng and be able to edit legs to "straight" or closed, but hands and arms stay the same.
2) The easiest way for this to work is with PS move, have the camera recognize movements, legs, arms, hands etc...Comment

Re: Create-a-stance
I asked Russell this question back in 2010 and he said I have no idea how impossible that would be to do.Comment

Yeah. I'm sure it would be crazy to try and implement. Just a thought that I had on a feature that would really add some depth to customization.
To tell the truth, what I'd love is for them to use a gameface option. I can spend 2 hrs creating me, but its never really "ME". I also think the game should have more than skinny, buff and fat for body types. Lol.

Re: Create-a-stance
How far away are these motion-capturing technologies (whatever PS calls their version of kinect) from being able to view a gamer doing a celebration or stance or swing/delivery, and learn it as something that can then be used in-game?
My interest in a baseball, boxing, or golfing game would probably go up by about 300% if I could buy the motion capture device (or more than one of them if it had to be able to view you from multiple angles in order to understand what you're doing in 3 dimensions), spend an afternoon teaching the games to mimic my own playing styles, and then get to use a created version of myself that actually plays the sport the way I do.
I mean I've spent hours trying to make created players look like me. I'm sure I'd happily spend more hours making them move and play like me.Comment
