    Pitcher's Pitch Count (Getting Shelled)????

In my Chise i let my pitcher Jarrod Parker throw a complete game S.O. he threw a total of 131 pitches. after he threw the 95 pitch in in 7th the screen said that parker was getting tired he threw another 11 pitches to complete the 8th inning...but in the 9th inning he threw 25 pitches to complete the S.O. since then he has had 2 start and has been shelled in both of them giving 16 ER and 21 hits.....did me having him throw those unnecessary pitches cause him more fatigue what should i do with him as his next start is in 2 days should i watch his pitch count or push his start a day or 2 back.????

I remember the number rest days between starts can introduce an additional fatigue factor (i.e., during playoff when 4- or even 3-man rotation may be used), but so long as you are following your regular 5-man rotation I don't think that kicks in. So if fatigue is a factor then it's probably just that you are not watching that energy bar as carefully as you should be?

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest bit if he was having a bit more fatigue, as in-depth as the game is in other areas...

131 pitches is a *really* long outing.. would actually make me really happy if this had at least a minor effect.

Might not be the worst idea to push his start back a day or two like you thought, and even if it has no tangible game effect, you're just being a good manager.

Yeah i think i'm gonna push his start back 2 days have him on 6 innings and 85 pitches....that is if he doesn't get shelled again.once i finish the game i let you guys know how well he did...listen learn no high pitch count for pitcher trying to earn the CG S.O.

Just Finish taking out Jarrod Parker out of the game he pitches 7 S.O innings 2 hits allowed no walks 10 K's total of 83 pitches thrown...his ERA started at 4.00 but left the game with an ERA of 2.88. i think he should be back to normal now.

I had Strasburgh throw 8 1/3 innings two starts ago. His pitch count hit 112. His next turn in the rotation I noticed his energy wasnt completely refilled. I'd say about 95%. Regardless, I kept his pitch count at 85 and even though he had a shutout he was gone by the 7th. With Kershaw I threw him in back to back starts 110+ and lost him for two months. I don't know if it was coincidence but I'm not taking anymore chances

Yeah i learn my listen if it ain't for a shot at a perfect game or no hitter i'm not risking my pitchers anymore. from now on i'll just bring in the reliever.
