Need Help with RttS Groundball Pitcher

So I decided to create a RttS groundball/contact pitcher to see how I did. I haven't played any RttS pitchers for several years, so I figured this would be a nice change of pace.

So the guy I created is a righty with a Sinker, Circle-Change, and Cutter for his first three pitches.

Here's my problem. I choose all stamina in my sliders (thinking this would be better in the long run ... lol) a balanced approach, and control over power. I figured they would set me up for longer success.

But my first 3 weeks into AA and review period I got called up to the White Sox AAA team when I actually wanted to stick around AA for a while and get some stats balanced.

I played a year in AAA as a starter as a RP, but I just can't seem to do well enough to generate any training points to help make a difference.

I spent most of my early points in the H/9, BB/9 - eventually getting them to 60, my K/9 to 60 and my Stamina to 80. Seeing my main pitch was a 72 mile an hour sinker, I added some break and got it to 78 right now the first month of the second season.

But it's just not working for me. My sinker low is sneaking through the infrield, or they are predicting my patterns and smoking drives off me even though it's low. I try and mix it up high with the cutter and pitches out of the zone, but they aren't swinging. I end up walking some guys, which shouldn't be a problem for my setup, but sure enough I seem to always get smoked on my sinker.

Any tips for this playstyle or how to go from here stat wise? Is this style in RttS simply less effect than the FB, Slider, Changeup build?

    Sorry for the long post

Got a couple different things for u on ur post.
First if u wanna stay in AA, I recomend going Legend or Hall of Fame.

As for a ground ball pitcher a splitter is another great pitch. As for the setup if u think about a rating of 60 would be a D. So yeah better batters r going to be t'in off on ur pitches.

With the sinker velocity and accuracy help with the ground balls. If u look at Derek Lowe u might get a better idea for what direction u might want to go with.

    Hope this helps

Re: Need Help with RttS Groundball Pitcher

Lowe was actually my inspiration (Go Tribe!). Thanks for the input! The only reason I've stopped at 60 in the core categories is because I simply stopped getting the points I needed right after the call up. I did have it wrong that my H/9 is actually at a 70, but that's still not good.

I had to make the call whether or not I should continue building up H/9 and control, but it was a hard call since my Sinker had a 17 in velocity lol. Its break was also sitting at 20, so I've gotten it up a little.

Where do you think I should prioritize future points since I'm skipping on any advancement goals?

Also, is it possible to get relegated back down to AA after too many bad reviews or do they just keep you on the bench?

      Thanks again!
