    September 1st roster expansion

I've done a search for this topic, but didn't find anything so I apologize if this has already been discussed.

Is roster expansion not in the game? In the past, I think that your players were automatically brought up on 9/1, but that hasn't happened in my franchise. I tried to bring them up manually, and it still wouldn't let me exceed the 25 man roster. Is there an option that I've overlooked?

Roster expansion is in the game, the rest of your 40-man gets called up automatically. I don't think it's immediately on September 1st, it happens a few days later, if memory serves me correctly. Sorry I'm not a big help, I never paid attention to the exact date, I just anticipate it happening.

If your minor league teams are in the playoffs, the players on the 40-man will not be automatically called up until they are eliminated. What you can do (and what some big league teams do) is call up the players you want to the big league roster manually, then promote your stud prospects to the next level for the playoffs. Recent examples include the Mariners promoting Nick Franklin straight from low A to AA in his first full year.

Great advice ITT! That is a good way to get your prospects more AB's but you may want to consider how many innings have been tossed by your pitchers (don't want TOO many).

It's in the game in Season mode, but it appears as though none of the CPU teams utilize the expanded roster. Although, I'm able to bring guys up.
