Online servers.
Are they the same as the Cloud servers?

Well, as you load your franchises to/from the servers, they're referred to as the "Cloud". Same thing and I already use those. However, in every past year, the servers have been disabled for use on or around the time the next game comes out although this is the first Vita release. I presume this will also happen this year as well.
So, to repeat the question, is there any other way other than using Cloud storage to switch franchises from the console to the Vita and vicey versy that I've missed that would facilitate not having this go immediately obsolete?

This is a good question, indeed. I will see what answers we can get regarding MLB 12 cloud saves, going forward.
To answer your question, patches are on SONY global servers, separate from the game servers. So basically patches are available years after a game's release.Comment

I PM'd Woodweaver about this a month or so ago and he said that you would be able to continue your MLB 12 franchise via cloud saves after MLB 13 is released.Currently Playing:

So basically we get one spot on the cloud for whatever franchise we're running? Whatever you upload for whichever version is the one on the cloud? Awesome. Guess I'll have time to finish Year 3 of the franchise.

So where does this stand? I can upload to the cloud saves via the Vita but get a generic "can not connect" type error on the PS3 when trying to download them.
If this is the standard...the inability to use THE MOST HYPED feature of last year 12 months later, they can stick the Vita and PS3 versions of '13 where the sun don't shine. They're still sitting in the Amazon box wrapped and even if they weren't, Amazon has a very liberal return policy.
So how about an answer Russell? Here's hoping you can come out with a definitive answer since I've spent 3 days doing internet searchs before coming here to find this thread. It's as if this is SCEA's dirty little secret...or rather a bit of false advertising as there is nothing in the advertising or manuals last year that limits their legal liability when they fail to maintain THE MAIN FEATURE (Cross-platform Play) of the game last year. Heck, we couldn't even use the feature until mid-late summer because of the cloud save issues.Last edited by jpb07; 04-10-2013, 07:14 AM.Comment

I've had issues with connecting, too, but usually on the 2nd try I am able to access the save file.So where does this stand? I can upload to the cloud saves via the Vita but get a generic "can not connect" type error on the PS3 when trying to download them.

Works fine for me.
Been passing my 1994 Season Replay back and forth with zero problems.
As usual...another sky if falling post....baseless.
Tired.

Thanks...I haven't had any luck. Played a game on the Vita and uploaded a new save. Hopefully that does the trick. I've tried 3-4 times on multiple occasions without any luck. It's not a connection issue on my end either...or shouldn't be...as I have it wired directly into my router.Comment

Re: Using MLB12 after March 5th.
Still no luck even after deleting and reinstalling the game data. After a dozen tries I'm still stuck...so despite your snide comment Knight, it is not "baseless." I don't remember you being such a jerk on the HH/MVP forums. Going by this thread, it's also an issue experienced by multiple people.
Trying to get into anything online I get the following:
-Online Entry
-Announcements with a small "Retrieving license agreement " window
-Then back to the Game Modes screen with a small "Network Error" Your connection has been lost window.
All of this happens in the span of roughly 3 seconds.Comment
