    Created players in Franchise

Do you guys create yourselves and put them on your team?

If yes do you have him max stats or do you start him at a 70-80 overall and watch him grow?

I used to, but then I realized that by running the team I was the GM and a GM does not play on the team (the same goes for Madden for me). The only way I put myself on the team is if I'm doing an exhibition/home run derby or Road to the Show.

I'll typically create some fake prospects and do a sort of pseudo-RTTS thing. I try to make it realistic when I do so and not call them up until at least the 2nd year of franchise.

I usually create a player in franchise. It allows me to take elements from RTTS and put them in a situation in which I make all roster moves.

Me and multiple friends on the WhiteSox and then at least one friend on every MLB team, usually filling the biggest position hole for that specific team.

Like playing against them and then seeing them in FA.

I create myself every year and keep everything in the 60 to 80 range except for speed.
I'm maxed out on speed because I still hold the SB record for my HS, so I think I deserve to be a 99 on that.

I always create myself and a couple of friends and my son. I can get into the game more this way. I dont max out attributes. Id say somewhere between 75-80

(Astros Franchise) Yes...and I MAX out his stats. After the first season I end up regretting it because I'm paying 'me' around 18 million a season. I can't afford anyone else. So, it's just 'me' surrounded by a bunch of AA players....yawn.

The one of the things I wish we could do is to create players in franchise mode halfway through a season

This. I usually make myself as a SP, and make my attributes in the 60 to low 70's range.

I create myself with most of my stats in the 50-60 range, except for my fielding (90), plate vision (80), and power (70/75) because those were my biggest strengths when I played. Then I throw him in AA and watch him slowly rise. Last franchise I called him up for September callups in the first season, another franchise I brought him up early in my second season. As much as I want to bring him up immediately, I make sure he dominates each level before I call him up.

I love your method!!!!!! Fair and realistic.

Me personally, I like to use the random.org. It's a website that lets you choose a range of numbers (0-100000000) and itll give you a truly random number at the click of a button.

With this being said, I determine the type player he'll be (speedy lead-off guy, power hitter, balanced, etc.)

Then I choose, for say a power hitter, a number range of 80-99 for his power atributes and let it (random.org) pick which number will be applied!

                        Try it, it's fun!

I have been creating myself ever since MVP Baseball 2004. I'm pretty good on defense, contact and good speed so I put those ratings up. I like to keep rosters accurate (especially MLB and AAA). I put myself on the Pawsox as the starting Left Fielder. My friends always ask me why don't I just put myself on the Red Sox. Well 1, again I like rosters accurate, and 2, it's closer to home lol (I live about 15 minutes from Pawtucket). My last name was in last years game so I got more reason to create myself now haha.

I also put myself on the 40 man roster and call myself up in September. The only thing I don't like with creating myself is if I make a mistake with my own guy I get even more pissed.

I create myself all maxed out at 99, and rock the majors.

No, honestly, I try to create myself but come to realize realistically I suck, so no point.

I use OSFM and don't create any additional players especially with names of myself or friends because i think thats when RTTS is for and for me personally it takes away to some of the realism and becomes more of a fantasy thing.

And for the guys who max themselves out and hop right into the majors at age 18 or 19 unless you're the yankees red sox phillies or one of those high payroll teams then you end up paying yourself 20-25MM a season which for a team like the Rays or Pirates that can be a huge chunk of your payroll which is no fun.
