Midnight Release?

Does any one know if GameStop/ebgames in toronto are doing midnight release? I know last year I could get the game at midnight because another game was doing midnight release

I think your only chance is if your gamestop does a midnight release for tomb raider. In the recent past, they have only announced these midnight releases a week or 10 days out. I suppose it has to do with how many pre-orders they get?

I worked at Gamestop when I was in high school and unless the game is a HUGE game like Madden, Metal Gear, or Halo or something like that, they do not do midnight release. The store can also decide midnight releases only if the store has enough pre-orders for a specific game (usually it will be the same case across the country)

If the store decides to do a midnight release on lets say Tomb Raider (doubt it) you can buy anything in the store at that point. So unless your local store has a huge demand for MLB The Show, you will need to wait until the morning.

They did one in my area for Dragon Age last year, and I was able to get the Show. But I don't think they're going to do one for Tomb Raider.

Unless there is a major release the same day The Show comes out, they wont have a midnight release. Last year, I was able to get it at midnight because Mass Effect 3 came out at the same time.

Mass effect 3 that was the game lol I couldn't remember.. Yeah I was t sure if tomb raider was getting midnight release or not.. Ive heard rumours it is because first tomb raider game in a long time but didn't hear anything official..

GameStop in my area told me they have a new corporate policy that they must get 60 total pre-orders to be open for any midnite release.

I have no idea if that applies in CAN, but I would assume so.

It depends on how far you are willing to travel. Most medium to large size cities will have at least one Gamestop open for a midnight release of Tomb Raider. If you can't find one your next best option, is to stand around Wal-Mart until they put it out and who knows how long that will be. I started this exact same thread a few weeks ago, there should be more answers for you in there.

I dont think all the stores that show up on the list will do midnight release though. Its basically showing every store near you and it will load more stores if you choose so further out. Unless maybe if gamestop decided to do midnight release at all stores or something.

Theres no guarantee they will have the game out at midnight.

You could be standing around for a hour or 2 maybe longer waiting for them to put the game out.
