    The Show '12: Pay roll...

Regarding The Show '12... Am I stupid (a good probability) or how much salary do you get to spend season after season (franchise) on players?

I see my player's total salaries and the % of my budget but I don't understand how I'm supposed to navigate mid-season trades not knowing what I can spend the following year?

I'm running with the Braves (playing every game, 54-41, 4 games out of 1st in the NL East, holding the wild card right now) and my financial stats are as follows:

    $50,423,183- total player salaries
    35%- of my budget

Does residual income from operations get thrown into my next years budget for salaries? (I've read before this is not the case but just making sure.)

Do I have a fixed amount as the Braves to spend on players?

I know this amount should move up or down depending on team performance at end of year.

The Shows system for budgeting and salaries isn't really 'intuitive'.

    Many thanks!

It's kind of quirky in '12....
I would always have to look at it by going to the FA screen....and there wasn't a way to see the projected budget for the following season.
'13 has that now...and in the offseason...it will also display how much you have out in offers(total) next to your budget(that wasn't in yet when we were there in January, but Aaron_SCEA was putting it in to better show you how much you had to spend.

      Thanks Knight, as always.

Damn... I wasn't going to get '13 BUT... (that's all I need is more excuses to get it!)

Budgets are much better this year. For those that complained it was too easy to sign everyone are going to be happy because if you don't win your budget won't increase enough to keep your players. I'm actually looking forward to running a sim franchise with the Pirates.

I think the budgets(franchise in general) are going to even improve more in the future with the ideas that Aaron and Luis have...

Each team, regardless of record, gets a minimum 10% increase each year. After first 2 years half the league has over 20 million available.
Each year after it becomes more pronounced. Teams routinely have 50-120 million available.
Salaries do not escalate with the payrolls.
          Steps to Reproduce
Sim multiple seasons and see budget available and contract totals.

Really hope that they can fix the budget/ contract problem in this game with a patch. I was fine with last years budgeting system and was a little skeptical when I heard they were overhauling this portion of the game. I know they have several issues to fix with a patch in this game but I really wish they would get to this and solve this because I believe that this will be an issue as more people get deeper into franchise this year.

There is a work around to that. Put contracts on manual for first 3 days of exclusive period. Then revert back to auto. More free agents hit the market and budgets are used by big payroll teams. Reason they are not right now is not enough free agents are getting in the open market that they can use their money on.

Quick fix that is working great for me.

Is that using 30 team control?

I think there still is an issue with budget increases. In my franchise twins had a 2013 record of 60-102 and a budget of 57.50, which increased to 64.94 for the start of 14. In fact most had an increase regardless of record.
