Something that helps me is focusing on the pitchers glove or the batters eye, it gives you a point to relate to as the pitch is coming in and can help you tell the trajectory of a pitch and how its breaking.

Works when you concentrate enough, hard to do every pitch though.

My problem is... why does almost every time I hit or foul off a ball the PCI in the strike zone box is never near the ball, I just dont get it. Im fouling off pitches and making crap contact which result in weak grounders and pop ups, I cant even get good contact anymore... Im using timing hitting so I wont have to worry about aim for the ball yet the CPU sucks at aiming for some reason... Im baffled...
Am I missing something here??? please help...
I'm having the same issue.

Sometimes I have a Good timing, but the PCI is waaaaaaay off the ball, resulting in a pop-up or grounder.

Some people have said changing the camera helps a lot. It all preference and what you feel you react to. I've been using an offset one, similar to geronimo's camera he posted, but the offset is a little more subtle I think. Just mess around in exhibition games and find one you like and stick with it a bit before determining if it sucks for you or not.

If you are using zone batting the best advice I can give is to start the PCI in a spot in the zone other than center and learn to sometimes not touch the stick. If you start the PCI near the top of the zone and a ball is up high, you have to have restraint and just hit X and not move the stick.

I had trouble before of moving the PCI EVERY PITCH. That led to a ton of whiffs on meatballs down the middle and up in the zone. Once I started to relax and just not move the PCI every time I hit a lot better.

Re: Hitting Advice Needed...

I find that because I played Baseball for so long working counts in any baseball video game comes pretty easy to me. If you see a pitch that you think you can do something with then take a whack at it. I'm all for working the count but if a pitcher lays it in their on the first pitch swing at it.

You have to look at how the pitch is coming out of the pitchers hand and you also need to take into account who your facing. If the opposing pitcher is a guy that relies on his breaking stuff then eventually he's going to hang one.
