Incorrect Wild Card Game Seeding

I noticed in my last franchise with the Braves that I was on the road versus the Brewers in the one game wild card playoff even though I had the top spot for the wild card game. I simulated a few other franchises and everything seemed fine. Also the Braves are incorrect in the default playoff mode, they should be at home. Anyone catch this?

Yup. Just gone done doing a test sim and you're correct. Each time the wild teams from both leagues are playing at the wrong place. Meaning the team with the better record has to play on the road instead of home. SMH

I thought that was the rule? At least when they implemented the new playoffs last year, I remember people complaining about how that was unfair but it was what mlb decided

At first, I was confused about the 'seating' situation at the stadium so I opened this thread to see what it was all about...but, anyway, the title of this MLB article says the following:

"Addition of Wild Card berths finalized for 2012
Lower-seeded teams will host first two games of Division Series"

I believe the OP was referring to the 1-game Wild Card game, not the LDS.

So, it's correct.

That is for the division series. They are talking about the wild card game, one game playoff. As far as I know the rule is the home field advantage goes to the team with the better regular season record.

So, it's correct.

No, it's NOT correct, for TWO reasons. First, that article is for LAST year's playoffs. The MLB decided, because of the lateness of deciding to add the second wild card team, that the lower seed team would host the first two games of the DIVISION series for 2012 ONLY. Beginning in 2013, the format would revert back to the 2-2-1 format. Second, it says the lower seed would host the first two games of the DIVISION series. This is the WILD CARD game the OP is talking about, not the division series.

I'm referring to the one game playoff where the top wild card spot hosts the second spot. I dimmed a franchise and the braves were on the road vs the brewers even though they had the better record. I dimmed another franchise and I think it was correct with the top spot hosted the game, can't remember the teams. People test this out and see what you come up with. If possible see if this is only an issue when the braves make it in the game

In playoff mode they have Braves at Cards it should be Cards at Braves. I reported the bug.

This is one of the things I just can't excuse.

Every game has bugs and no one can predict them so I can cope with that, but something like this that is wrong is pretty poor to be honest.

For everything the show does right there are some things that they get wrong that just baffles me considering their attention to detail.

If you can't excuse and can't cope with a minor programming error like that, especially one that has zero affect on the gameplay, then maybe you need to consider tiddlywinks instead of sports video games. Seriously.

I already play tiddlywinks thanks. I can cope with it I just think oversights like that are pretty poor.

I'm aware it doesn't affect gameplay however there are also some of us who would like authenticity to the MLB. For me that includes correct regular season schedules (still wrong after year one), correct postseason schedules and correct uniforms.

I love the show but I'd also like more authenticity in particular to those fundamental aspects of the MLB season.
