For those who manually injure players....

in the start of your franchise. Will you manually injure someone like Ryan Ludwick, who got hurt in the first game of the year, or will you have him active?

I have yet to start my franchise and am trying to decide which way i want to go and wanted to see what other people are doing about players like this that get hurt after the season starts but before you start your season or franchise?

I just went on whoever was injured on the night I started my franchise. Ludwick is hurt in mine, but only for about 20 days.

Either way it's "unrealistic", since he played in the game. No better place than the start of the first game, to draw the line.

Well I plan on taking my Mets to the playoffs, so my franchise is unrealistic no matter what I do!

I only use injuries that were there prior to opening day.

I usually just go with injuries that existed before the season began, but sometimes I'll add one that happens during the season if I think it makes it a little more challenging or makes me make a decision.

Sometimes it's to get some minor leaguers up in the majors.

Last year I added Andy Pettitte's injury even though it happened once the season began. I did the same with Rivera. But usually, if it's just a minor thing or not anything I care about, I skip it if it happened OD or beyond.

I do as well. Except for tim hudson. I cant stand to pitch with the god awful motion they have for him and nothing else looks even close so he always has tommy johns or a ruptured disc or something when I start my franchise.

Why not just trade him then?

Here's how I look at it. As badly as I want my franchise to replicate real life, I realize the events that transpire in it can not possibly do that. Therefore, in my Marlins franchise, I have been using Logan Morrison from the beginning even though he is out until at least May. Granted, this is partly because my lineup is garbage even with him.

Just starting my franchise now with OSFM v2.

Does anyone have a list of injuries that were current on opening day?

I actually run two franchises concurrently, on that i set as of opening day injuries and just blast through as much as i can, and another that i try to run "real time" with the actual season, updating all rosterchanges etc.
