How to create a good RTTS player
This thread is just meant for people to talk about how they became successful in their RTTS for example what position, height, weight, best batting stance, etc. also what sliders/difficulty you use. Post awayTags: None -
Re: How to create a good RTTS player
Every position is differed so ur first selection should be things you'll need...for slides don't ever go all the way on one just judge with sides more important n slide that way. Use left over points to hide flaws made by slide...don't use more than 390pts here so u have a good chance at hitting goals n u can adjust more if you need toAdam J. Buckland, Esq. -

Well, if you want the best possible attributes as early as possible, you should try to min/max them during player creation. Raising an attribute takes (n+1) points, where n is the current level of that attribute. The attribute in the left had column gets 3/4 of the points when you train it. So for example, if you want to raise Contact (R) from 50 to 51, train it with 51*4/3 = 68 points.
If I recall, the categories with two secondary stats are split 50/25/25, but it might be 75/12.5/12.5.
Thus, going from a rating of 40 to 45 during character creation is worth 45+44+43+42+41 = 215 in season training points while going from 10 to 15 is worth only 15+14+13+12+11 = 55 in season training points.
Oh, height and weight don't affect anything, I think. I think the batting stance effect is based on how well the player can time swings with that particular animation, so try a few until you find one you like. Remember, your time in the minors and/or spring training is your time to play around with adjustments to your swing.
As for position, 1B used to get a lot more points back in '09 - '10 because of fielding opportunities. I really haven't paid much attention to whether that has changed and I don't play 1B, so I can't be certain that is still true. (I've also never tried catcher).
Finally, improving hitting will yield more future training points than trying to steal lots of bases and/or fielding, so if your goal is to be a superstar as early as possible focus on Power and Vision and just put the minimum in others to prevent regression.Last edited by Cozar; 04-12-2013, 02:31 PM.Comment
