    Pure Analog Hitting

How many of you are using Pure Analog Hitting? What difficulty are you on? What camera angle do you use? Any tips for those that are looking to use the mechanic?

I've gone back and forth from Analog and Timing, but have settled on Analog. It's just more rewarding to me and oddly enough, helps me draw more walks. All-Star difficulty for me.

I created a custom camera based on Catcher Offest and that helps me better gauge if a pitch is inside/outside, which for Analog is key since you need to push the stick up and to the L/R based on location of the pitch.

I use analog hitting on all star with TNK's slider set. Camera angle is default catcher pulled back so I can see the entire batters box and I have raised the camera angle so the strikezone is down lower. I tried offset but just can't hit that way.

I like the analog as well, especially when you turn on one and go yard!

I solely use pure analog hitting and I love it. I use a custom hitting camera similar to the "high" batting camera they used to have. It's really zoomed out and the pitcher's waist is usually right in line with the center outfield wall.

I play on all-star with TNK's sliders and I find myself usually getting 6-12 hits a game using it. I find that I also get more walks using it because when I pull back it's easier to hold off going forward than to resist pushing the button.

I pull back just as the pitcher is about to release the ball. Even for the guys with the longer strides, that seems to be the ideal time. I don't use analog with zone, I have a hard enough time as it is!

Pull back just before the pitcher releases the baseball. Have not tried Zone-Analog and will not; that's too much for me to focus on.

Just finished an MLB Live game: Blue Jays (me) at Royals. Won 4-3. I had 9 hits, two of which were HR's. I hit a monster 3-run shot with Bautista off the LF foul pole and Arencibia yanked one to LCF.

Pure analog. HOF. I have had games with 10 runs scored and some with 3 hits and zero runs. I get a good variety. The only problem is that I strike out 6 to 14 times a game. I guess I need more practice.

It's the only hitting mode I'll use now. When you get a hanger and you flick up on that stick to crush the ball, no other mode can provide that feeling I don't think.

Catcher Classic (I think, I'm at school the game isn't in front of me), All-Star default. I still draw a way below average number of walks, but I do get one or two a game it seems. My lack of walks doesn't really bother me, since I take plenty of pitches. Find a zone you like to see the ball in, for me and I'd imagine most people it's up and out over the heart of the plate, and wait until you get that pitch. Take your step and if it's not coming in where you're expecting, take the pitch. If it's two strikes, swing late and foul it off if it's in the zone. That's really my only tip, and I know it seems obvious. And I still strike out on plenty of sliders down and away even with that approach because I am an idiot.

Yeah the reward of timing up a pitch on Analog is far superior to just pressing a button. I jumped out of my seat yesterday when I hit that bomb with Bautista.

Sliders get me a lot, too, so don't feel bad. That's a tough pitch to gauge, especially the low ones.

I messed around with analog a bit this year for the first time, and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. It really does "feel" natural. Ultimately, I stuck with timing just because that's what I'm familiar with. But I may have to give analog another shot.

I only use analogue, but was wondering how power/contact swings are implemented behind the scenes? Are you automatically forced to use a power swing until two strikes, or is it always a contact swing?

I get a ton of deep fly outs, if I had a choice I would never use a power swing for my RTTS SS unless it was a sac fly situation. I always wonder if its a power swing that is getting me all of these deep flys on pitches over the plate I should have laced for a single/double.

It also does get aggravating that the PCI placement doesn't make much sense sometimes. To be low and away on pitch one...? why am I looking for a pitch on the corner to hit with no strikes yet? and thats with 96 plate vision. stuff like that can get aggravating, 3-0 count and my PCI is set up down low causing me to pop up a pitch right down the middle. I was thinking of turning zone on but just leaving it in the middle as it would reward me more for swinging at pitches over the heart of the plate, but....seems it would limit the whole batting experience to much...

You can choose the type of swing to take by pressing the button before the pitch.

Since I've switched to analog batting it seems to have solved the problem of hard hit balls down the lines "dying" before they get to the wall.

Now most of them get to the wall and result in stand up doubles instead of hair raising sliding doubles.

Also my amount of opposite field hits has jumped by a vast margin, also my strikeouts have dropped.

You all are right about the HRs as well, they feel great. Hit a opposite field shot off the pole in Detroit with Justin Upton, and pulled one with J-Hey and they both just felt great!
