I know nomo has done testing and questioned a comeback code. Or questioned someone questioning a comeback code.

But when my pitcher has been dominating all game. And suddenly the CPU just figures everything out is a little suspicious. It happens in every game. I just had a 3 run lead in the 6th. Pitcher sure as hell wasnt tired after throwing only 37 pitches through 5. Yet everything i threw was getting hit. Not hard. But always just out of reach of a fielder. Its kinda BS. I didnt change what i was doing. Wasnt throwing the same pitches over and over in the same spot.

I wouldnt mind so much if it was just the pitching. But when they start hitting. Then all of a sudden i cant. I had a triple a 3 doubles off the starter in the 5th. Yet back out comes the same pitcher in the 6th and 7th. Not one hit or walk. Painting the coroners perfectly. Pitch right down the middle with perfect timing and solid contact. Grounder to 3rd. Maybe its just me. But im calling shenanigans on the no comeback code.

As for pitching, are you following a pattern? Say, you are getting guys out with breaking stuff away after throwing fastballs in? Are you using the same pitches to get outs? If you get a guy out away with a fastball, do you continue to use that pitch because it worked before?

The reason I ask is that pitchers, in real life, get sucked into a pattern where they throw the same pitches at the same time to the same hitters.

Its important that you view the Pitcher/Batter Analysis with every batter the second time through the order and from there on to prevent you from falling into a "pattern".

Even then its not a guarantee that you will be successful, but you have a better chance at success mixing things up than you do staying with a "tried and true" method.

I had played well over 325 games with The Show 12 (and will play more I am sure).

I am sure I will end up playing well over 500 games with The Show 13 before it is all said and done.

Trust me......this has been discussed ad nausea......there is no comeback code.

This game has the best sports AI (other than NBA 2K11) I have ever played with. Truly remarkable.

Managing your pitching staff during the season and more importantly during game situations is something that you must learn and master to not get frustrated.

But again.....there is no so called comeback code. If your that frustrated...play a different game. It is supposed to be fun. And simulation video game baseball for me with The Show 11/12/13 has been pure utopia, and gets better with each iteration.

Yeah I don't care what anybody says about the combeack code (whether it exists or not) but every now and then I do start getting unmistakably rocked. $#!t happens in real life too though, so I can't complain.

I was a little mad after this last game. I dont think it does exist. But that shouldnt be happening. Its like my pitcher fall apart. I need to blame something. And this is better than me complaining about Francoeurs fielding mistakes. Who lets a ball get under their glove twice in an inning?

To be honest I used to think the same when I first started playing this series. I was kind of new to baseball so I came on here and asked " how to get through the 7th 8th and 9th"

I'm sure the thread still pops up now and again and basically all of the help I got about pitching strategys etc helped me so much.

I now manage to get through those late innings successfully ( although not always which is how it should be)

Simple answer: pitch smart

I've had games go in my favor and the computers favor all on different occasions. I've never run into this problem but even if so, a comeback is always possible in any game. It's a sport of chance and error.

All pitchers and hitters have different tendencies. Just have to adapt to them and utilize them efficiently and effectively. May take time but you'll come around

Not trying to sound rude but do you ever throw a ball? 35 pitches through five innings is very very low. I have played probably 200 games on 12 and at least 50 on 13 yet and I have yet to feel a comeback code. If I start getting hit I will have a mound visit. I am also not afraid to walk someone. Try mixing up your pitches, pitch around the lefty right matchup or right lefty matchups if you have too.

There isn't a code. I think for the most part it's just part of your imagination. Your thinking that it's there so when the CPU actually does come back on you sometimes you think it's happening all the time..... Sort of like a sports fan mentality where they think it's always and only their team that gets "screwed" on bad calls and such but it reality it's pretty even.

This game plays out fine. You can't expect to go 162-0... You need to play smart. Both sides of the ball. It won't kill you to sometimes pitch around opposing hitters, go to the pen earlier than normal, work the count, sacrifice, etc.

Last week the Cards gave up 9 runs to the Reds in the 9th inning. It happens.

If I start to get rocked, I will generally blame on myself for being too predictable. The only thing that gets me wondering, is when all of a sudden my fielders regress to toddlers and can't make routine plays.

Dropped routine fly balls, 2nd baseman overthrowing the SS by 10 feet on a short lob, ect. I find it weird all of that seems to happen at the worst possible time.

I once lost an intense playoff game.. one of the most fun MLB games I've ever played because of a routine fly ball that was dropped in extra innings. Totally ruined such a great game.

This just happened in a real game last week. Bronson Arroyo had a no-hitter through 5 innings and then in the 6th the Cards scored 4 runs and go on to win 4-1. It's baseball it's a very frustrating game.

In the past I use to go into games thinking I was going to throw a no-hitter or shutout and when I would give up that first crap hit I would get upset because I was playing to well...
This year I have a completely different outlook, Im pitching with classic and I know that setting can be a little unpredictable but Ive learned some things about it from experience and this site. Now I go into games thinking, "how is my pitching going to be this game?" and its actually pretty fun. i dont blame myself for bad pitching, unless I actually hung a pitch or whatever. Rather, for example, Tazawa is one of my best pitchers and he got completely shelled at the beginning of the season, I almost sent him to the minors. I had 3 losses over the first 2 weeks and they were all from him. BUT I played on and worked through the struggles and hes ok now.
Let the game play out how it may, you'll enjoy it more... Yes I am in first place and am hitting well but thats probably because I play on veteran difficulty but Im having fun and thats what matter... Ive been contemplating moving up to all-star difficulty but Im nervous that I will lose this enjoyment, I probably will within a few days though lol...

My point is, dont expect players to play a certain way, just take what comes... In real life, anything can happen, its the same in the game... there probably is a code in the game but not a comeback code, maybe a code for anything to happen to any player? Who knows... And if your losing a lot of games, just put your pride aside and lower your difficulty, I've been stubborn with myself saying Im better than veteran and all-star difficulty but then I was also very frustrated cause I was struggling to enjoy myself... Nobody cares what difficulty your on or how you have to alter the settings, just find your comfort zone(somewhere between winning and losing) and enjoy The Show...

EDIT: Also there are dynamics in this game so when you comeback its fun but when you lose to a comeback its not, I feel you frustration. Im not saying theres a "comeback code" Im just saying the game mimics real life where a pitcher can pitcher shutout ball til the 8th and then get shelled, WHY? because stuff happens... Also, baseball is a game of numbers rather than time, you can completely dominate a team through 8 and 2/3s innings but maybe they'll comeback and win with one out to go. And you feel short-changed because you spent so much time winning only to lose within minutes. Baseball is not Football or Basketball. Its a completely different game, time is not a factor, just remember that too...

Are you throwing the ball where the CPU catch is asking when you get rocked? If so try throwing it somewhere else. Also when I start to get rocked I call for a mound visit that can sometimes help. I think confidence can play a role in this too if you start to give up some hits the pitchers conf. will go down

The fact that you threw only 35 pitches through 5 innings means you are throwing too many strikes.

Pitching that way makes it pretty easy to just turn it on all of a sudden the second and third time through the lineup very realistic and probable. You are too predictable at that point.
