Early Regression
In my current Franchise, I'm in year 4, and Chris Sale (age 26) as begun to regress. Anyone have any thoughts why? I don't it's performance related as he's 9-1 with a 2.61 ERA. He still has A potential so this confuses me. If he's jt going to continue regressing I might as well trade him.Tags: None -

Re: Early Regression
I just passed the draft and he's dropped 1 point in most of the pitching categories (stamina, velocity, k/9 etc.) and 2 in some others.
I have Stanton too so I desperately hope that doesn't happen.Comment

Re: Early Regression
I just joined because I am having problems with this. In my Cards franchise Molina dropped 3 ovr points in a season he was batting well over .300. The whole regression system is messed up though how can Beltran have 30 HRs and drop to a 77.Comment

Re: Early Regression
I know that pretty much as soon as you hit age 33/34 they start to regress extremely fast. R.A. Dickey dropped from a 95 to a 72 in my first year.Comment

Re: Early Regression
I don't mind some guys regressing early, as long as everyone doesnt. For example, with Stanton, in that same Franchise, Kemp was a 99 at 35. Some guys just hit a wall, and I don't mind that too much. I just wish the progression was as random.Comment

Re: Early Regression
The thing is that IRL guys sometimes peak early and xrash out, the systems not looking at names its just picking guys that are gonna show the be studs for a couple seasons and then crash. Re: Early Regression
Are you manually training or auto training? I always auto train existing players. I've noticed "auto train" will sometimes get reset to no training.Comment

This. I know older guys are supposed to regress, but I had Alex Gonzalez in my Brewers franchise start at a 80 ovr only to drop to a 69 about a third through the season. The guy went from being my every day shortstop to not knowing what to do with him in a matter of 50 games.Comment

Re: Early Regression
I have yet to find an option to auto train, or manually train. I certainly don't want to manually train everyone.Comment

Re: Early Regression
That is really bad, Kemp still a 99 at age 35, and I'm a Dodgers fan. Stanton shouldn't drop off that early, and neither should Sale.
I am really surprised anyone would be a 99 OVR at age 35.Comment

Re: Early Regression
It's not bad at all. Some players can keep up an elite level of play well into their late 30s and plenty of players have great years up until they are 27-28 years old and hit a wall. Who knows that next season they don't get a significant bump up basically making their regression a virtual bad season for the player? There are countless players who are budding superstars in their mid-20s that never turn into anything more than a good player. Why can't it be like that in The Show? Not every A potential player should be Hall of Fame worthy.Comment
