Baserunning Logic
I am wondering if the baserunning logic will ever be addressed?? I can't tell you how many times I have had a runner thrown out at a base on a base hit. What I am talking about is having say runners at first and second and hit a grounder through the hole at short only to have the runner at second thrown out at third because he broke back to the bag . I have also seen it happen where the runner goes back to the original base on a hit with 2 outs... This has been a problem for years and is getting tiring... I don't mean to sound like an *** but this is basic baseball logic. Will this ever be fixed.. I don't know much about coding logic but it would seem that a simple "If X , then Y " shouldn't be hard at all....

Re: Baserunning Logic
You might find this on a ball hit in front of the man on second. Like a ball hit to short or third. You have to decide to send him to third at least on the settings that I am using.Comment

Re: Baserunning Logic
I have had the exact same problem the last two years. It's happened on every situation imaginable. I've had runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs and a line drive base hit that the RF cuts off in the gap and I can't score from 2nd because he broke back to the bag first.
Having base running set to auto is the only way I've found to fix it. I don't like having it that way because I like to be able to go 1st to 3rd on different situations. It's becoming very frustrating.Comment

Re: Baserunning Logic
You're definitely not the only one, but this issue has existed for so long, I think a lot of people are just used to it, and have learned to work around the shortcomings of the game. For example, in your case, you can just hold L1 and advance the runner yourself.
But I agree baserunning needs a substantial amount of attention.
A personal pet peeve is when runners stop running at any point in time while the ball is in play... when there are 2 outs.Comment

Re: Baserunning Logic
I think I started a similar thread last year of year before.
I don't expect anything to change until ps4.
What irks me the most is the lack of awareness avoiding tags by baserunners.
Which I find a bit ironic considering the animation is in the game of them avoiding the ball on hard hits, and supposedly the addition of 'collision avoidance' in the game this year.Comment

Re: Baserunning Logic
Use manual running and this wont happen, esp with two outs, on a ball hit just hold down the advance all button. They wont even stop at 3rd they will just keep going. If you have it on manual they wont go past 3rd and go back.
I never trusted auto running because the CPU always costs me runs by sending the running home when they shouldnt or by keeping him at 3rd when he should go.
Also up the runner speed slider one click, it will get you more doubles on hits that should be doublesComment
