New TV -- 3D Worth it?

I bought a 3D ready plasma TV with my tax return, and I'm wondering if anyone uses 3D and if it helps or is useful or looks good in any way.

For what it's worth: I hate 3D in the movie theaters, think it's a bit of a gimmick, and would probably only use the 3D for gaming.

If you think 3D movies are a waste, then gaming wont be much different. I like 3D, it adds that immersion value to my expiereince IMO. I like the depth it provides for some games, and thats pretty much all it does.

It's disappointing. The frame rate drops too much to play for very long that way.

Thanks. I was really hopeful it would be almost a game-changer for like fastballs/change-ups -- like being able to discern it was coming at you a few seconds faster, or something.

I'll skip buying those silly-looking glasses, I suppose.

I like it personally. It actually helps me hit to see the depth of the pitches. Never play in 2D anymore.
