    Most Fun Position RTTS

    Hey guys,

So I want to start a RTTS player and I'm debating between 3B, SS or 2B. In your opinion what is the position you guys having the most fun playing? I would also like to start a 2nd RTTS as a SP or CL can't decide. Would love to hear some feedbacks, thanks.

I'm playing as a 3B, which is okay, but a SS would be more activity ("fun") in terms of fielding. There's a lot of movement to both sides, and you're covering 2B just as much. And there's nothing like having a hand in turning a DP!

Yeah as stated above if your looking for fun in the field with maybe an all round guy who makes good use of all five tools then 2B/SS is great, if your just looking to make a slugger or great hitter then 1B/3B is good, OF is very challenging (for me anyways) in the field as I can't get used to the camera angels... I'm not a big fan of making a pitcher but when I do I usually make a CP as I then don't have to focus as much on stamina and can put all my points into making a power pitcher with a power fastball and slider to shut down innings with lots of K's... You could do that with a starter but its much easier to do with a closer...

        I like 2B.

It was my primary position in real life so that's why I picked 2B to begin with. But I like turning a double play, you get to cover 2B on steals, and it's also less demanding as far as fielding goes. You need to have good fielding and throwing accuracy but you don't have to stress as much with throwing power. You can use those points on speed, vision, contact, ect.

It's also awesome when you make that diving stop to save a run or gun a runner out, but that can be done at any infield spot really.

I tried outfield last year and enjoyed that too, but this year I have a hard time with camera angles. I'm sure it probably just takes some getting used to, but overall I enjoy second base the most.

I've played quite a bit of shortstop this year, and that's almost certainly going to be the most fun infield position to play because ypou get the most activity, and you're right in the middle. It's a longer throw to 1st which makes it more satisfying than the throw from 2nd base.

I also just made a centerfielder and am having fun with him as well. The new camera angle does take some getting used to, especially when you get turned around because the camera flipped angles on you.

Over the years I've played everywhere and I would say the only position that I couldn't stand playing was 1b, though you get a ton of points from POs so its easier to make a power hitter from. This year the outfield is amazing could never play it in the past because of camera issues but this year its ****ing sweet tits. I always do what you say you're planning which is play one fielder and one pitcher. I like starting personally just cause that's what I did as a kid. I also played center as a kid as well so that is why I'm so happy with being able to play out there this year. With the new catch function it is almost like being out there.

I'd also say that if you want to play a complete 5 tool player the most realistic would be a SS or a CFer.

When it comes to this issue remember that you can use R3 to look at where the ball is going to. This is a big help as far as keeping on deep flies and is also realistic to use as well.

The one and only time I ever got deep with this mode, I was a closer.

I cannot stick with this mode, it gets way too repetitive, and does not hold any appeal.

But about 2 years ago, I think I was waiting on a patch or roster set or something, and got about 2 or 3 seasons deep as a closer. If you're looking to sort of 'speed up' your career, I think it's the perfect position.

Personally I like making SP. you only play 30-35 games a season so seasons go by pretty quick. It does get aggrevating at times when your defense always makes errors on routine plays. (Happens much more often in AA then the Majors) but hey that is baseball and what makes this game so great!

I did not know this so thanks, started up a RF just before and I'm having a lot of fun now that I can actually field... Hitting .326 with 5 homers and 18 rbi through the first month in AA...

I usually play as a starting pitcher. The advantage is that you play 33 games every season and you are heavily involved in every game you play. A lot of times the manager removes me too early in my opinion, but that helps to make the game better because you are not in charge of the game. My issue with being a closer is that it seems like half of your "playing time" is loading the game when you are called in (you play about the same amount of time as it takes to load the game from the schedule sim).

As a position player I prefer either 1B, 2B/SS, of CF because these positions have a good amount of responsibility.

Guess it depends on what you want out of your RTTS.

If you want a fast progression, then go with Closer as you only come in for an inning or so a game and you skip a few games a week most weeks.

If you like playing defense then go with SS as others have said, you get the most activity.

If you want a slugger, play 1st as you get more points from PO's.

If you just like playing defense, go with catcher as you'll be out there every play.

This is pretty sweet man, thanks. I tried doing a CF but wow I couldn't get a fly ball lol. Will definitely give it a try!

SS/2B didn't like it much because it gets pretty annoying covering a SB almost every other inning.

Catcher is waaaaaay too boring IMO.

Thank you all for the great feedbacks. I will try creating a CF, 3B and SP and will decided between 3B and CF. CF should be fun, I'm give it another try. Trout 2.0 lol

This doesn't work for me. It will look around before the ball is thrown, but once the pitcher throws the ball and it comes off the bat R3 doesn't do anything for me

Yes I would also like to know more about this. OF is still very difficult for me. I can make the routine plays but some plays I am just awful and not really sure where the ball is going to land.

Any tips for OF's would be greatly appreciated.
