Games are long, the pitcher almost never hits the spot you called..

I'd never be able to play as a catcher for a full season.

Ahhh because you don't like the position maybe. For those of us that squatted behind the dish for a time it great. I love playing catcher.

I don't really think it's that bad, but it's pretty hard to play through a whole career with a catcher... and generally that's what people like to do in RTTS.

Generally people also complain when they spend more than a season or two in the minors. In othwrwords not all modes or positions are for everyone.

I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that those aren't truly separate issues. It is likely the same people that complain about one feel the same way about the other.

Maybe some, but being stuck in the minors for a few extra seasons and just not being able to play multiple seasons are 2 separate things.

Think if you got stuck in the minors longer than you thought you should, AND you were a catcher...

Just comes to personal preference, but the general feeling about playing catcher in RTTS is that it is boring because games take so long to play. (Leading to being unable to play multiple seasons, playing through an entire career, ect.)

EDIT: And no, I'm not one of those people complaining about being stuck in the minors. I actually wish I was in the minors longer. I just like to play through many seasons... It already takes so long to get to free agency (6 years in the MLB).. It would be extremely difficult to get there as a catcher. Not to mention the Hall of Fame.

For people using a RTTS catcher, can you use the manual catch option? Seems like that would make it more engaging.

wish there was an option to play catcher instead of pitcher in franchise mode!
