    RTTS Velocity Question

I was wondering if increasing off speed pitches velocity will decrease or increase pitch speed? I know when you edit players increasing the velocity of a changeup the pitch speed will decrese. Is it the same in RTTS?

Why would it decrease the pitch speed?

      Re: RTTS Velocity Question

Because some pitches such as change-ups are more effective the slower they are. So increasing the velocity rating for that pitch(another words making the pitch better) actually decreases that pitches velocity.

As far as the OP question it just depends on which pitch/pitches you are referring to as to whether or not the speed will increase or decrease.

I know your other pitches determine the speed of your off speed pitches as well. I have a circle change in my repertoire at a velocity rating of 24 and I'm hitting the mid 80's. I have a running fastball that runs in the mid 90's So I guess I'll try and up the velocity of the circle change to see if I can get close to a 15 or so mph difference

I believe in Diamond Dynasty the pitch speed is supposed to decrease as you increase the velocity attribute. The same probably applies to RTTS as well.

I also read somewhere that the velocity of other pitches also has an impact. So, if you have a slow running fastball then you have a better chance at having a slower changeup. I could be wrong about this but I think I read about it somewhere in the forums.

The velocity decreases as the velocity rating increases. I know this is true for both the Change and Circle Change. I'd assume that it's the same for other pitches which are more effective the slower they are (Curve, Knuckle, etc...).
