Why is my manager such an idiot?
Why does my manager keep using my closer in innings he should not be used in, such as the 6th inning, the 7th inning, and the 8th inning?

Actually closers should be used that way when the situation dictates it but real managers are too afraid of being second guessed it never happens. -

Where are you at in your career? If you are just starting out it will be a while before your coach allows you to close games for him. You have to earn your spot.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: Why is my manager such an idiot?
It was in the 2019 season. Even though I was in the 6th inning sometimes, my CP still got 43 saves. He won plenty of games, I think he won 8 games , some of the wins had a blown save, he did have 1 loss, it was in a non save chance against the Mets, who my CP typically does very well against. My CP pitched in the 2nd most games on the Phillies with 84, only behind 121 games for Ryan Cook.Last edited by RecordBreakerCF; 06-10-2013, 06:13 AM.Comment

Re: Why is my manager such an idiot?
my manager also does the same thing.. 2020 season but we have more of a platoon closer situation... 3 guys with 15-20 saves each.. no real closer I think they do it because of ratings... all three guys he uses for me are in the low 90sComment

Not really, imo. Leyland is married to the "closer" role (he's said multiple times he likes having a set closer because it keeps the second guessers at bay) and doesn't strike me as someone who would use his closer in the sixth, seventh and eighth. He's used them in non-save situations, but usually only in blow-out wins.Comment
