With the PS4's increased power and better architectural design, would you be disappointed if a stadium creator was not in the next MLB the Show? I guess if your a Rays or A's fan it's more important then say if your a Giants fan but we have seen it work and it adds a fun factor plus make it part of the front office model

Considering it takes them a great while to get stadium models to look right and play as they do in real life, I would be absolutely shocked if stadium creation made the Show any time soon.

I doubt it will happen, for it to be good it would need to be insanely in depth.

Way down on the list of priorities for at least the next 2-3 years i would say, and rightly so.

As for the future - who knows?...

I would love stadium creator, I even suggested to just let us take diff pieces of diff stadiums to build a stadium.

It's also possible mlb doesn't want this. They want official teams, unis, and stadiums.

You can't just take pieces of existing stadiums because everything won't line up. Balls might go into a corner where they'd disappear through a gap. You could have some unpredictable bounces due to the seams from parts of different parks. The designer would have to be smart enough to fill the gaps both visually and "physically" with the appropriate material. It wouldn't render correctly 100% of the time because so much of the field would need to be calculated during play compared to a "canned" stadium which would result in a degradation of game play. This is a lot of work for a feature that probably 10% of the players would ever use.

That's a fair point, as the MLB seems very cautious of it's property, but I doubt it in this case. Created stadiums aren't in lieu of real ones and we already have fictional stadiums, uniforms, and teams as it is.

It's more likely an issue of tech versus priority. A stadium creator for baseball has more considerations (such as physics, etc) than for other sports, since it is more involved in play. I also think that, ironically enough, the more advanced the game, the more difficult it is to do something like that satisfactorily, simply because the designs (and consumer demands) are inherently more complex.

That's not to say it can't be done, but that's where the issue of weighing against priority comes in. There are so many more areas where The Show can take advantage of the PS4's better hardware that are more essential to the game (or more beneficial to a broader user base) and probably less demanding to implement.

I think if/when we do see a feature related to this, a more likely scenario is that we are given more fictional stadiums (a la ASB) that can be used at the MLB level.

Thats a good idea Sox, I would be cool with premade fictional stadiums, so at least we would have some choices

I'd like to see them add in more classic stadiums. While in real life I hated the cookie cutter stadiums, I think it'd be neat to use them for the Show...astroturf!

All those classic stadia require licenses; that's been the main sticking point holding them back in the past.

MVP NCAA 07 on PS2 had create a stadium with fully functioning wall placement and height editor, I don't see why SCEA can't do it.

Two completely separate games. MVP's light, texture, and modelling system was not even remotely as complicated as The Show's is now
