Tough situation

I play as the red sox in my chise and i follow pretty much every transaction. I had placed Bailey on waivers to remove off 40 man so i could add Bogaerts. However with 1 day left for teams to claim him Philly claims. No matter what i try to do to prevent he always gets claimed. Is there a workaroud or a way to retrieve him after? Its not most important though since he is out for season in real life and questionable to be with sox nexf year. Thanks

If you have a save previous..(I'm guessing you do since you say no matter what)....
Did you try lowering his attributes until he goes unclaimed and then putting them back when he's down?
Worth a shot.

Yes i tried that. I lowered him to a 5 overall lol but they still kept claiming him. Thanks anyway

Manually injure him and put him on the 60 day DL?

But, isn't this part of the appeal of playing Franchise mode? You have to battle X other teams for free agents or make a trade to one up one of the other contenders. Sometimes you just lose out on a guy, just like in real life.
I'm not one to tell a guy how to run his 'chise. I just think that's not being true to what this feature was designed to give us.

Not IMO. I play my Franchise to reflect the real MLB rosters with all the same transactions.
Doing this requires 30 team control, force trades On and CPU trades Off.

But everyone has their own way of playing.

PLUS, to the OP, its not just about attribute numbers, but also about contract terms.
PHI is prob making the claims because they are attracted to his contract, which is also why I play with Ignore Budgets On.

To mirror the real MLB, I need absolute control.

Interesting way to look at it. It is true and i am not that annoyed because his future in Boston is up in the air and it gives me an opportunity to create another prospect and put them in my system

Have read the posts and would seem to me you're stuck, OP, without 30-team control and force trades on. Esp after the attributes downgrade did not work. Sorry.

I play with both on, and check the wire every day for ridiculous trade proposals/waivers/releases to give me option to override or un-do them.

Just so we are clear. You went back to a save from BEFORE you placed the player on waivers in the first place? You can NOT just go to a save from the day before they officially claimed him (but after placing him on waivers). Who knows when the Phillies made the decision to actually claim him, maybe it was on the first day.

You gotta go all the way back.
