Its true the other 2 are annoying, thing is it doesn't matter who it is that does the color commentary is going to sound awful. not because Matty is that great but just because of the blueprint in which SCEA goes about doing commentary is failure.

The problem is it's EXTREMELY REPETITIVE. Pretty much the same lines since MLB 06. Unfortunately for myself I just can't play with the commentary off. It's almost as bad as the EA NHL series. I just don't understand why they can't have the guys say more in these games.

I do the same thing. The BIG problem for me with the color commentators isn't the generic repetitiveness but rather when they criticize IN ANY WAY either my players or my managerial decisions (now that kind of repetiveness really burns) and I always catch myself muttering something along the lines of "shut the F up, a-hole"

I think I turned off all of the announcers after the first month of play. It's still a good experience this way.

Maybe it's just me, as I've only picked up the show in 12 and 13, but the commentary is the 2nd best behind NBA 2k. I don't play every game, so that might have something to do with it as well.

2k's MLB commentary while it does get stale after a while is superior to the commentary in The Show. Nothing comes close to NBA 2k. It is amazing.
I've turned all the commentary off. Thanks for the suggestion.

wish they can implement a commentary system like in the 2k games. nba2k series has the best color commentary of any sports game.

They messed up bringing Lyons in, one of the most annoying announcers around. Karros isn't that great either.

Lyons is awesome.

Totally disagree.

Karros I could take or not....but Lyons has always had flair. Loved him in ASB and I hope they allow him more leeway to be like that.

His voice, ugh. Too much Me Me Me, and "when I played" in the booth in real life. I find him to be extremely narcissistic but to each their own.
