This will be the edition where Mariano Rivera was last playable in a video game

It will be extremely weird to pick the Yankees next year and not close the game with Mo... or face the Yankees and not see Mo coming in the 9th.

In my franchise for MLB 12, Andy, Jeter and Mo retired in 2012, but they lost the WS to the Nats.

I play as the Braves. Do they still show Mo coming in from the bullpen in this years version? That was cool to see in recent versions. SCEA has taken so many things out of this game through the years....

I didnt even think about this... and I already sold the game

I'm not a Yankee fan, but I am from New York, so they still mean a lot to me, both as people, and as players. Maybe I'll re-make them myself in 2014

A few months ago, I was thinking that certain seasons would become collectors items. I had the Yankees in mind when I wrote that. For exactly the reasons you gave.
20 years from now.. guys like you will hopefully be able to pull out your MLB The Show and still root for Jeter, Riviera etc. Almost as if they was still playing.
I wish they had this game back when my Big Red Machine was around.

Nope. I've been meaning to re-purchase '11 or '12 since those are the ones I enjoyed the most. But I'm also incredibly busy with life right now and I dont even have time to play the video games I already have, so most likely I'll just wait it out until the PS4 and '14

I picked up 11 and 12 new for 5 bucks a piece on eBay. You never know when one of these discs die and I wouldn't want to be without either of them.

In My '13 franchise, both Mo and Pettitte retired at end of season. Just like in real life lol. They were also 'inducted' into the HOF.

I keep the Shows anyway but it was the same with me with MLB 12 since it was the last one with Chipper

Rivera& Pettitte retiring, A-Rod possibly done forever, Jeter having maybe one more season left in him, the threat of Giradi joining Theo in Chicago,
it's definitely the end of an era in the Bronx.
