What if for the devs, instead of bringing in the commentators they want and having them spend mucho hours recording lines that eventually become stale; why dont they just bring in the guys they want, have them say a couple random lines just to capture their voiceprint, then using a synthesizer, and an internet connection, the dev's can keep commentary up to the day current with latest headlines and intricacies of a given season or rivalry.

I don't think this a terrible idea, but I would prefer not to do this.
The positives are great, however, having professional commentators we recognize not only add to the realism of the game, but IMO they would probably flow better with the events in the game. I mean they are professionals,that's what they do (with the exception of some, i.e. Tim McCarver).
I understand where you are coming from, that a patch or an update with added commentary would make the game more interesting throughout the year, especially after trades or if teams have sudden come out of the cellar to make a push for the playoffs, but I'm not sure how I would like a non-associated MLB announcer and commentators discussing the game. I guess I would be open if we were subject to a vote

NO NO, No patches. Just need an internet connection going (since most people have one now anyways), and the commentary feed comes from the servers. The lines are written, and pushed to your game through the internet, this way it's more organic, and always fresh. With recorded lines, things will have to get stale eventually. But with a server based feed going, seasons are always up to date with current stats, lines, notes, stories, whatever. I'll take an organic, live feed commentary over 2k commentary any day. I agree that 2k's commentary seems better than other sports games, but only by a little bit. NBA 2k's commentary is great but it also gets stale because there's only so many lines you can put in. Plus when they include personal stories like how Kevin Durant grew up a Raptors fan, it gets more annoying (for me) than generic lines.

Me too...it's not bugging me at all. Have to say that I like to play as well with no commentary just because sometimes I want to feel like I'm at the stadium.
I tried to see in the videos if the base running is a bit less robotic but not sure what have been done in that area.Comment

Also, this will make TheShow Live much better too. Even if your not doing a season, but just a single game, organic live feed commentary will enhance that mode SO MUCH! If things happen during the season, wether the commentary needs to be past/present/future tense... it can be. Dev's just write the new lines if need be to match the new real world stories happening, get them synched to the appropriate commentator's voiceprint, upload them to the server, and bob's your uncle, all the gamers get fresh commentary all year long.Comment
